What's the thoughts on the route they take from likes of Perth and Fraserburgh I'd imagine a direct route would mean coming down through the Ettrick hills and down through Cumbria or they would stay on east side until south of Pennines then dog leg across?

Anyone any knowledge? Be interesting to compare returns in different wind conditions over the years

That seems most direct route and suppose is the route they'd take when the wind is in their favour and they can get nice and high.

On a hard day when they're low taking that westerly side would be a tough gig through that those hills and valleys in border area
