Roland Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 Well have been using the mesh today. there is so much on the roll that I've decided, and give this helpful tip out now, once you decide to use it, find a place where it can be permantly laying down. Great stuff. when I think I was getting 5metres for £22 or more eh! Would be still working on my loft - am revamping as most know, but am off shortly to do a 'Fund - Raiser at Kings Lynn.... East Dereham tomorrow. We raised a few hundreds on Satuday night. Indeed quite a bit over the last week or so. Great speaking to you Pete/ Nice to put a name to a face and personlise I guess. Great meeting Tammy too. And Simeon Turners ad. Hes was pushed for time, but a no nonsence great straight to the point guy too. Hope I'm not Hi jacking this thread lol. P.s spent 5 hours walking around Meadowhall Shopping centre. Gave Joyce a wedge as usual. Suprised me, she actually bought two items nearing a fiver. Lol Tight git eh! lol ;D ;D ;D

Roland Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 As soon as I do, you will, and that's fer sure.
Roland Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 You know, bought a roll for a geezer and took it to meeting. He says nowt. So on way to the loo I says I've got it.... He dashed out after me to say he's changed his mind, and it was 'Too Much' mesh, more than he'd ever use if he lived to be a 100'. :-/ So what he ordered it. But isn't it the case, that in that scenario, he could pass it on. Indeed 2 - 3 could buy it between them. Further a sheet on 3 foot by 2 is £1 25 or more. That for the of 10 sheets of 30 x 2 = 60 divided 9 again divide and take away a 1/5th is near 5 metres for £12 25p he could have 10 metres or more length which equates over 15 squared metres :-/. It doesn't rust, takes up very little room and will always have a reason for you or family / friends at a later stage. :B

Roland Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I feel it is apt to make a point to PigeonPete regards his' wire mesh, which incidently would be superb for, and in many aspects. I think Pete could / should nip down to a carpet shop and get a few Cardboard tubes that carpet is wrapped around. That would cut into 3 comfortablely to wrap this mesh around. They are 4 metres long (13 foot 2 inches) Then wrap some of them 30 metres long rolls of mesh into to 10's and 15 metres. I.e. 3 x 10 metres ate £15, and 15 metres long at £25. Most people say 'It's too much'.... no one will buy them between themselves. Gosh every club could a have their own panniers. Even show pens. Yes time to re - mesh or build their own averies etc. Great price.... but ............ :-/ Yes seems the biggest draw back is 'Buying too Much' and them A. frightened they have to store or dump it, or worse still give some to friends or family! :o Golly a 10 metre roll would do, and have a vast and wide range of uses, not least running along fences / Hedges and blocking holes out! and at £15 why worry if after the jobs and chores are all done if you sling some away ... OR even let some friend or family have it ... ;D ;D
Roland Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Then of course many others MAIN worry that somewhere along the line I might be - at £40 - making something. That's after travelling to Crewe to pick it up for them at NO CHARGE! :o
pigeonpete Posted December 15, 2009 Author Report Posted December 15, 2009 Cheers for that mate, yes appreciate what your saying, i admit its a pain once opened aswell, (just being honest) food for thought, and will get onto early january, as deffo a 2 man job :-) :-) wrestling with that stuff :-) Carriage is £11.99 due to weight ( 26.5kg) and 4ft long, Can get it for £10 a roll, on 2 or more going to same address :-) If you want to help me cut it down into 10 metre lengths, etc, then i will supply the cutters for you :-)
Roland Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 You know, another great sauce and use for that mesh is, as so light, have two different size cages for putting the youngsters up on the Loft / Roofs etc. Rust free could even leave them up there, though of course if able they would certainly be easy to lift and handle. Why two sizes. So the smaller one would have a door that opens into the larger ones for placing the birds up thare. Indeed tewo smaller crates to allow the youngsters to run freely in or out of them and easier to lift!
