swilcox Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Mate The biggest mistake you will make is giving up racing, people want to buy winning pigeons from winning fancier!!! Esp at the prices you are quoting!!! Hope you dont mind my input!!!! P.S. Hawk attacks are experienced by everyone, its something we all have to put up with!!!
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 ... its a true fact 'the apple never falls far from the tree,It,s also a bigger fact that the bad ones fall closer to the tree.
Okitsme Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 I have had some excellent birds off Spencer and like he said, as a novice he helped me out. Got a young one directly off his champion. I think you will do well mate.
Fair Play Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 The unfortunate thing about pigeon racing is that fancies change and what was todays flavour is tomorrows reject, along comes a fancier with some great results and everyone is climbing over each other to get them and probably paying inflated prices. I think it is a bit ingracious to say that all foreign rung birds are rubbish, they may well fly for the owner but never perform for you. In a few years down the line "timbarra" will also change as birds go out of fashion, Louella is the classic example they upgrade their stock all the time so they are one step ahead. It all comes down to the question how much are you preparred to pay, as someone has previously quoted " The best birds are usually gifts", you can buy a fanciers birds but you can't buy the fancier once you buy it (If you can afford it) it's then up to you.

Hi Stuart, there is nothing wrong with your imput mate , it is greatly appreciated and from you to comment its welcomed. Yes stuart I agree to a point with you and understand what your saying in relation to selling pigeons, but nowadays most people buy bloodlines that win and everybody before my house move last sept has won with my birds, and i mean everybody. thats over the last 16 years !! if I could not supply birds of certain origin and of top quality myself , i would gladly recommend yourself as i think you do bring birds of top class to the sport. best regards spencer, Hi Bart, sorry i do not give my address out to just anyone, my name is spencer and you can contact me on 07989746150 .
Guest coxy Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 i personally think that instead of saying i want 75 quid each for them that you should do some sort of a deal on certain amounts!!! offer help and advice to novices and young fanciers!! and special rates for novices and young fanciers even if its only slightly lower to give them some incentive to buy the birds only my opinion tho mate!!!! if you want any help ideas on the web design and other features then pm me
polly Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I agree with Timbarra -pigeon racing is so specialised that only the best stock should be used alongside best loft hygiene and practises. It is definately not a 'get rich quick'scheme. It should be enjoyed for the passion for the birds with occassional success as a bonus. Coxy you should be ashamed of yourself as you took my money and did not send any birds as promised. Your a disgrace to the rest of us

speedy Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 [face=Arial][/face] I AM NEW TO THE SITE AND WILL ADMIT IN THE PAST TO SPENDING STUPID AMOUNTS ON PIGEONS HOWEVER THE BEST BIRDS I RECEIVED COST NEXT TO NOTHING I NOTICED THAT A COLLEGE LAD SAYS ITS EASY TO SPEND 75.00 ON A YOUNG BIRD WELL BEST OF LUCK TO HIM, MY FIANCEE HAD MY FIRST CHILD 6 MONTHS AGO, I WORK 50 HOURS PER WEEK AND COULD NOT AFFORD THAT MUCH FOR ONE YOUNG BIRD I LOOK FORWARD TO SOME BARGAINS ON HERE IN JANUARY SO I CAN PUT A TEAM TOGETHER JUST TO TRY AND COMPETE NEXT YEAR ITS OBVIOUSLY NOT A WORKING MANS SPORT ANYMORE BUT MORE FOR PROFESSIONALS AND SCHOOL AND COLLEGE CHILDRED BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL
Back garden fancier Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I disagree, it is a working mans sport still. Just look at the members of your club! If you wanted to you could set up with a home made loft, gift birds and a loaned clock. You don't have to spend thousands to enjoy pigeons, that's the whole point. However if someone has thousands to spare on birds and ETS and fancy lofts then good luck to them.
speedy Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I was talking tongue in cheek about the working class bit, i dont begrudge this new stud from selling at there chosen price that is up to them and i extend my best wishes to them for a sucsesful business venture. however the sport is in decline everyone should do anything they can to help new starters and novices. we all agree im sure that the professionals are trying to take a hold on the sport with this priduct and that product so lets all just enjoy our birds i quite honestly get more enjoyment out of my birds flying around the loft stress free than i do with the high pressure of racing but the racing i sa bug i cant get rid of

speedy Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 thanks for the advice mate you seem very genuine.
Guest Paulo Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 its like everything you pay your money and take your choice I've spent 75.00 quid on YB's and done nowt with them.
