i use g10's. last year and this ring my youngsters about 5 day old. its only my second year so not sure if thats the norm. out of 32 pairs 2 dead inshell all others good healthy looking youngins.

i use to keep quails i would take the eggs of them everyday for upto 4 WEEKS i keep them in the fridge turning twice a day. when i got to 80 eggs i put them in the incubator nearly all would hatch. but these where quails. never tried pigeon eggs.

never had rats here and ive lived here 14 years and always had birds.ive had the odd mouse but always have traps set, baited with jam on toast and put poison under the loft. on the point of poison, last week i got some new stuff off the farmer where i get my corn from. it looks and smells like strawberry bubblegum chewed and stuck between 2 pieces of cellotape. not tested it yet. 7p a piece.

feed my widowhoods last year with g10's in the feed, never gave g10's to stock, you would never get a ring on the widowhood chicks after 7 days the stock 10 days. good luck. dont forget the VASELINE
