  1. What is your assumption? Why would the law come calling? Is it wrong to advise against treating blindly, with a chemical cocktail? Is it wrong to advise against spreading disease? My advice was to get them checked out by a vet, hardly a criminal offence. Treating them blindly with god knows what, and putting suspect pigeons in a race basket.......That should be the criminal offence. There may be an innocent reason why the birds were sneezing, but if you are happy with infected pigeons in your transporter then I will say no more. It seems to be the way pigeon racing going.
  2. Sorry but if you think you have respiratory problems then it is wreckless to inflict this on your fellow members by sending them. Its not just the baskets your birds are in its the whole rudy transporter. If you don't think you have the problem WHY treat. Thats where a hellofalot of problems have come from. If you're not sure and don't have anyone who can advise ( and I dont mean advice from the portable chemist earlier) then go to a vet.
  3. Methinks Blackswan has nothing whatsoever to do with Ab fed, other than making mischief. When I first read this thread I thought he was an Ab member, but at no time does he say he is. The members I have spoken to have had 25% losses, which ties in with the amount Williedoo was missing.
  4. I'm confused if this guy stays here, then he is a wee bit out of Abdn boundary. Or have I missed something...............again.
  5. "some even got as far as Glenrothes " Well glad it was Glenrothes and not Glenbervie.
  6. Hi Ian, Thanks for the reply. Sorry don't have the time either. You wondered where all the birds came from for week 3.... well I think I have fed and watered most of them in my garage over the last few weeks. Stray basket finally emptied for the first time in about 6 weeks.
  7. How come we dont get the Fed result online these days?
  8. Congratulations, cracking results.
  9. Sorry but given this is a non fancier, I think the owner should be sending for it, not leaving it for a few days.
  10. Beware of scaring them off your own roof, when/if they do get spooked they will land of a roof even further away.
  11. Hi, I have 6 late breds ready now. I only keep a small team 12 pairs for racing, and already have the yb's I need for this year. Donation to Pigeon Basics plus carriage. These birds were bred for the channel races I was sending to. PM me if interested. 4 are off my stock birds. 2 off my best yearlings.
  12. Stonehaven, misty but looks like it will burn off.
  13. Result now on SNFC website: http://www.snfc.co.uk/Result/22.htm
  14. "Their cousins, the little egret, was first spotted in Britain about 25 years ago and they slowly began to breed. Today they have become almost common and even breed in London. " Well there's plenty bullsh*t in and around Westminster.....or are they already on their 76 days summer hols.
  15. If the droppings really are fine, you should be able to pick one off the perch. Try another vet, you need more in depth testing.
  16. You try checking ring numbers from the nest and see how bad their eyesight really is!!!
  17. Only 3 pair.......................I wish, maybe thats what they want.
  18. Anyone see the The One Show last night (Tuesday). It appears you can now see perergrines at SIX sites across the UK. http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneshow/article/2008/07/dlo_falcon1.shtml One the plus side (for Irish fanciers anyway), the rspb cannot confirm if there are peregrines in Ireland. Probably means a good few hundred pairs if their their own previous calculations are anything to go by. Or does it mean they are not indigenous like the eagle owl here, and should be removed. So next time your old favourite returns home torn to shreds, if they get home at all, probably not percy, just been flying too close to one o' them environmentally friendly wind turbines.
  19. Looks like areally hard one. Only 1 more bird on lib-line R.Renwick Creca 21:21. Brave birds those that have made it. Congratulations.
  20. I'll second that. The wind has been strong NW from Dundee north. Kinda glad I don't have birds at this one.
  21. Archie??Never noticed wingstamp. Has a plastic ring. I am probably going to Dundee tomorrow. If bird looks fit enough will just toss it. Think it might just have been badly dehydrated, looks a lot better after 24 hours.
  22. SU08 F 7652 handed in to local vet. Now in my garage.
  23. Sadly not sending. Birds that were intended for Falaise went to Ypres. Best of luck to all who are sending.
