  2. Last twice I let some latebreds out s/h took one both times, let some hens out last night for first time since end of racing and hawk away with bird that came out of last years gold cup just missing result, unfortunately keeps getting them in neighbours culdesac as it gets cover in high trees overlooking.
  3. Worthy winner,i'm sure there's not many would have had the bottle to send a yearling back to the channel after such a hard race at the gold cup, Well done Ger.

Is that the same Tommy that said in an earlier post Quote, (a reduction in the membership is a step in the right direction), unquote Surely this guy doesn't have an influence on the scottish racing pigeon scene!!!

Now that we're in the age of internet, let's use it to our advantage. Why cant there be more involvement online, most people nowadays have access to a computer and if the right questions were asked then surely a better representation of fanciers wishes can be then be voted on at meeting level, also to cut down on workload and postage costs paperwork can be sent online, of course anyone outwith access to computer can request postal delivery

Spent 20 years trying to change things at fed level when I was young and keen, only to fall on deaf ears, pigeon men dont like change, why would I travel 200 mls round trip to be shot down.

Good post what do you think we can do about it.

Well! By the nature of your reply I can only assume you are in someway involved, possibly a delegate or member of committee, thank you for your reply because this now explains why pigeon racing is in a crisis situation. If you are in some way involved with the governing body of scottish pigeon racing then surely you should be trying to encourage participation and increased membership!!!

With regard to first post, might not have been clear but I am not a member of a club or federation, why should I have to pay around 48% more for my rings.

Unfortunately I wont, because i still want to fly with snfc , point is with an ageing membership, let's be realistic keep costs down. There was a period when a full time post was necessary in shu but I now think this has to be re-visited with regards to the membership figures

No wonder the game is near finished, Don't have time to be competing seriously in club or fed, have kept doo's for 43 years, still like to fly a national race when i get chance, must be a member of shu to compete in snfc but get penalised cost wise, will always keep the birds but shu doing me no favour's. They are also not doing themselves any favour's because, last year I became a member of nwhu, and bought rings etc. Terry is top dollar and a great asset. Must be lots of guys like me who just like to enjoy keeping pigeons, but with an ever decreasing membership lets just screw them anyway.!!!
  14. Thanks
  15. Cheers

  18. Hi George, its one of mine been trying to get the latebreds out but hawks are giving bother, they've been scattered a couple of times, am happy to come and pick her up or if shes staying with you, then keep her if you want, let me know your number and i will phone, Cheers Mike MacPherson
  19. buckingham at 330mls 24 days before marking for gold cup might suit some or if inclined Angus/ Dundee Fed has comeback race week after buckingham. From an SNFC member's point of view I think they have the dates bang on for all races including Y/B race being a week later
  20. No problems for feds Dave, check proposal, inland races still to be flown same weekends as previously
  21. birdage entries getting less and less each year, we shouldn't be placing obstacles in front of members, we should be trying to encourage extra birdage, securuty procedures should be adhered to in all marking stations, run properly, problem solved
  22. i like birds that have learned to fend for themselves, might not be for club racers but when comes to channel , sometimes ok, if not then they normally sort themselves out the good ones return.
