  1. will doo...
  2. these charity auctions are a great idea for the less fortunate with health, like said before it is purely optional whether you look, bid or buy! from a fanciers point of view the selection of pigeons offered for these special sales would never come under the hammer otherwise, giving us all the opportunity to purchase something quite unique in most cases from a personal point of view it would be good to see a 'fund' of some description started for fighting the raptor problem, something we are all touched by and a problem that is slowly but surely going to end our great sport! just a thought...
  3. great.. next race you can watch live!
  4. i'm sure you will did u manage to get on the Derby Arona website?
  5. thanks TOOSHY, our No.1 supporter
  6. YE WE COULD DO WITH A GOOD YIN, THERE WAS LOCAL OLD BIRDS LIBERATED WITH THE GROUP-B SEEMINGLY, WHICH WAS AN AFTER THOUGHT AFTER THE GROUP-A RACE... EVERY YEAR THEY TWEEK SOMETHING WITH THE TRAINING OR RACING AS PLANS NEVER GO ACCORDINGLY IT APPEARS, DIFFERENT TYPE OF RCAING ALTOGETHER... JUST LETS HOPE SOMETHING MAKES IT TO THE FINAL EH!
  7. GROUP-C SURVIVAL RACE scheduled for 16-19th February, it is planned to liberate 400-500 old experienced pigeons from Tenerife Island to help with the returns...
  8. ye thats what it says on the website anyway , mind u cant see the weather being that bad in tenerife... it was scorching when we were for the new year! i reckon the organisers will wait for the best possible forecast with good visibilty to give the youngsters the best chance!
  9. no prob mate, keep ya posted...
  10. just awaiting a date for the SURVIVAL RACE-C to take place, pigeons are being given some on island training flights to keep them fit... www.derbyarona.com
  11. well done lads...
  12. Lot 16... £100 Lot 20... £100 >>>> Done Thanks Ian
  13. hopefully we can battle to the end, with a bit of luck and plenty praying.. lol
  14. even better when they head in one batch!
  15. Now the annoying part of this race series is the fact that once these youngsters have completed there first island training flight the remaining races are a huge success... In 2011 the first island race was HOTSPOT RACE 1... from Gran Canaria, and unfortunately another stinker with only 12% returns!! The remaining races had the following returns... HOTSPOT 2.... 82% HOTSPOT 3.... 94% HOTSPOT 4.... 28% FINAL.... 58% canna really argue with that i'm afraid! its just getting those YB's to cross that water first time round...
  16. no prob mate, was having a look at there website yesterday, was just a bit unsure of the numbers... how many made it home form the final, entry was 3497 wasnt it... ??? have to admit tho, nobody can look at the DerbyArona website imo, it leaves the rest standing i'm afraid, but ye i wish we had a bit better racing... dont think they have much of an option, must remain fair to all competing...
  17. No luck mate, Storm Queen is 'doon the tubes' mate! i still have a couple to go into Survival Race-C, so all is not lost bud... keep ya posted!
  18. so they lost over 2000 birds after all that training then mate?
  19. cracking hen mate, cant fault Jim's photography... got a cracker of our Combine winner done at our show.
  20. yip they figures seem about correct, i think there was a youngster home on saturday from a previous training race also... last year only 53 pigeons made it to the final which turned out to be a great race with the winners doing 3 hours 40 minutes for 300km and 31 pigeons timed all winning great prizes, the turn out for the final i'm told had about 200 visitors NO joy this week mate, looks like Storm Queen has bit the dust...
  21. glad your happy with your purchase mate, Andy never fails to deliver!
  22. two now... Team Total Recall, England and Team Sibille Thierry & Donnbay V., Belgium well done lads...
  23. NOW.. NOW! lol...
  24. 4 gallant youngtsers made it home second day yesterday now totalling 24... hope we see something today?
  25. get yir drift mate, dont think the organiser would move country though! but great idea if another fancier from these parts considered it?? any how... i'm off to bed, race is over we must move on and battle with the weapons we have, all the debating in the world wont bring the youngsters back! GOOD NIGHT
