  1. ughh... dont mention last years, the last two training flights have been wee testers and hopefully give them a bit of experience for the first island flight... if the locals get 50% returns from these races thats considered very good!!! ouch!!! its not the distance its just tough racing
  2. total for the evening was 1024 pigeons, tough race but good experience for them... next race is from Gran Canaria, 120km 'the survival race'
  3. 1013 pigeons home now... activated my reserve pigeons today

  5. the hen i timed at SNFC Clermont this year (61st Open) was a latebred in 2008, and only went 20 miles in the year of her birth, leicester as a 2yo (278 miles)
  6. there will be arrivals tomorrow, this has been two stiff off shore training flights... hopefully it will set the youngsters up for there first trip to the island of Gran Canaria, which is usually always a very hard race... only time will tell and everything will be crossed that day!

  9. Owner activation is now open and ends 18th January, 3rd party activation then opens and ends 25th January... then they will have there first island race from Gran Canaria.
  10. liberation took place at 8.30am from 75km off-shore... leaders were clocked at 9.05am. Elspeth Morrison had a cracker with the leaders finishing 13th position, and only 13 seconds behind the winner! happy to report all Scottish entrants are home, was chuffed to see my red grizzle 'Bonnie Dundee' and nestmate 'Storm Queen' land together and timed 1 second apart... in what has turned out to be a testing training flight! 911 pigeons home at the moment... Elspeth Morrison 13th, 410th William Donachie 171st, 174th, 610th Jock Ross 419th, 445th Team Doolanders 550th, 647th, 834th, 839th ... well done lads n lasses!

  13. a list of all the unactivated birds & cost will appear on the DERBY ARONA website on the 18th January, for 3rd part activation! entrants for tomorrow can be found in the basketing list(now)from all the participating countries on the Derby Arona website!
  14. ye, the live web cam should be on tomorrow... and right through to the final, if birds are liberated at 8.30am, i reckon will be on from as early as 9.00am owners activation starts tomorrow also, then any pigeons unactivated become available to the general public from the 18th January, but be quick as the first to pay there money will be the new owners... dont miss out on a unique opportunity!
  15. 1124 entries have been basketted for the second OFF-SHORE TRAINING flight 75km, tomorrow with an estimated release time of 8.30am... good luck everybody!

  18. tread carefully Alex, first n foremost enjoy ur doos and dont sacrifice ur family life for doo men! been thro it all, u will just be shat on from a great height, let the the unemployed, OAP, supposed invalids do the work... they got all day! dont mean to sound negative but a small minority of fanciers spoil it for the good guys, i like ur self do my fair share for the love of the sport, but dont stick ur neck out any further than you have too... ur are likely to loss yer nose!!!
  19. sent 5 this year, one went awol i presume from around the loft... then one missing training leaves me with three... good to see a couple more Scottish fanciers enter this year.

  24. nothing as of yet this morning, looks like they will be a bit scarce
  25. young birds worked well this morning, slowed up a bit in afternoon... a handful will make it tommorow, lets hope a Scot is amongst them. from the 39 arrivals today, 21 were local pigeons from the Canaries and mainland Spain... the last pigeon home as mentioned by DJWa was from the Gran Canaria loft of Team Yahve-Anibal-Ruben-Aday Rguez, they had 23 pigeons entered in this race and LADY GAGA was there 21st arrival, they had 6 in the first 100 (6,22,39,59,68,100)good going... a loft i'm keeping my eye on, there first bird MORRIGAN has been there first arrival 3 training races in succession, winning 8th; 3rd; 6th good luck for arrivals tommorow...
