all going well hoping to send for the first time to the Gold Cup 2013, and i would definetly give this a go Lewis... keep it simple tho, to many suggestions being thrown around here!

when chatting to Jose brother Abel Ledesma who trains the Derby Arona pigeons, he was telling me every time literally when he trains his own pigeons for local racing he is guaranteed a falcon strike... sometimes lossing 10/12 at any one time, the locals just now accept this as part and parcel of pigeon racing... unfortunately we will just have to accept it also i'm afraid or pack up... training by Team Arona has went very well despite the falcon attacks with very minimal losses, it cerainly looks like training in numbers could be the way forward to keep the falcon problem at bay?? food for thought...

i'm sure every household has a facebook page... and i'm sure almost every fancier in the UK is touched by the raptor problem at some stage... FACEBOOK is the perfect opportunity to get this problem in the public eye and let them see the REAL FACTS... so c'mon lads get FACEBOOKING!!!!

TRAINING 08... 15th JANUARY Scottish team still have 31 pigeons in contention, so fingers crossed as the distance increases!

neither, at roof level on the stock loft avairy where the bugger used to enter my garden,so it would only get as far as this... would move it about sometimes if i thought the bugger was getting used to it... i have since run weld mesh the entire stock loft length at rear on an angle making it impossible for the bugger to pop across... if you have some spare time on your hands to sit and wait on the bugger entering your garden, a powerful catapult is just the job...

keep your birds in mate, no need for them to be out at this time of year! i use the ultrasonic cat detterent and a jack russell, both work very well!

another great training flight today... returns 98.74%! all scottish doos home once again, well done lads!! 971 birds timed in the space of 10 minutes, so looks like the Derby Arona Team are working on the trapping, and as the weeks go on this could only improve, so well done on some superb loft management! :emoticon-0137-clapping:

TRAINING 07... PORIS... 30km 11th December returns yesterday trainig flight were 98%

welcome aboard lads... great to see some Scottish interest in this race, what a weekend this could be if we are all in the Final, first Scottish doo timed in buys the Cava!! lol i am lucky enough to have ten of the original 11 young birds sent over last year, i have added four activations... 'Bonny','Selenea','Lyng' and 'Pine Shine' GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!

now that activations are over training got underway again today... very good flight for the youngsters after having a short break with returns in excess of 96%! all Scottish doos made it safe n sound, we have some additions to the squad with some activations to spice things up a bit, with the addition of three new teams... welome TEAM SEASHORE with there two activations 'Guajira' & 'Homer' TEAM LSC LADS with there activation 'Gee' TEAM G.HUNTER & SON with there activation 'Mr.Jangles'

great stuff Allan, all adds to the fun eh? five of my entrants this year were bred from two hens that i purchased from the 2011 final... one being my activated hen 'FLECHA' that finished 26th, so i'm just hoping one of them gets a fair crack being bred from a local doo crossed with my own stuff, wife and I are spending New Year over there and have arranged to bring 'Diazepan' home... will be rooting for every Scottish doo in the competition mate and really hope some one does well! as we say in Dundee... bring it on! lol... best of luck, keep in touch

Best of luck also mate, another Diazepan would be dream, with some of the racing ahead reckon we will need something a bit stronger than diazepan to calm the nerves, lol... Couldnt help myself either, have activated three pigeons.. BONNY (Team America) LYNG and SELENEA (both Team Real De Gran Canaria)....
