  1. used it 2010 and 2011, youngsters got fat n lazy and a problem to get them working around the loft, 2012 went back to breed n wean, 2013 will be breed n wean!
  2. i thought it was SHU ruling that your nearest club had to accept you, and if they have recieved a lottery grant then more so...
  3. any one know what the latest entry is, and fast the loft maybe filling up?
  4. see ya over there... :emoticon-0167-beer:
  5. boat would get grounded!
  6. it is just the way the racing is over there mate, usually from the first survival race which is the first time from the island of Gran Canaria... where 50% returns are rated as good! island training doesnt seem to be to much of a problem, but as soon as they jump islands disaster is looming, but having said that once they have done it once returns from the remining races are usually excellent! disasterous racing happens all over, we had a YB race last year when most lofts failed to reach 50% returns even after 2 weeks, gutting at the time...
  7. Thanks Allan, but many hurdles to the Final so no chickens counted at the moment! i would hope though what these pigeons have just experienced should put them in a good position for the future events, we will just have to wait and see... what ever the outcome i'm sure we will have a ball in March, and if all goes pear shaped we will be shouting somebody onat the Final, maybe not in the same language tho but who gives a monkeys when yir p*shed! lol...
  8. 293 looks like final tally for the evening, 45 gallant pigeons made it today... Pity HOMER didnt show up for ya mate... there always tomorrow tho, who knows... something will put in an appearance! :emoticon-0167-beer:
  9. 291 pigeons home, dont think we will see many more now!
  10. we all know what we are getting ourselves into when entering, the ultimate test in pigeon racing and not for the faint hearted!
  11. 245... with one on the board!
  12. SSHHHH! 170 home now in total... looks like they have headed towards Gran Canaria
  13. very tough race today, a long couple of days looming! lets hope at least 200 make it today...
  14. 824 pigeons basketted for tomorrow First Sea Training Race... 80km, 60km island + 20km over the sea! looks like an early lib... scheduled for approxiametly 8.00am... GOOD LUCK!
  15. looks like a good programme.. hoping to have a go at some of them
  16. PB Syndicate i reckon would draw a lot of interest, one of the biggest attractions to this OLR for me is the transparency of the whole competition from start to finish... the constant updated and highly professional website is second to none... it is good for fanciers who are spending a few quid to know what is going on every step of the way with there pigeons, unlike some of the other OLR's on the go through out! i would agree with Allan, activations would be the way to go for a syndicate.. would cut out a lot of hassle getting pigeons ready and shipped at the same time, no losses off the loft, no losses at the first hurdles... something to think about??
  17. it would appear when returns dry up on these islands you just do nt seem to see many of the lost pigeons again mate, a topic i raised with Jose on my last visit... once the pigeons are empty that is it, in there climate there aint much in the fields or water reserves like we have here in the UK!
  18. anything can happen from now mate, as you well know... regardless of how well or not it appears to be going for some... we will just have to sit tight and let the remainder of the competition unfold, and pray we all have a doo in the final
  19. once again this thread has created a HUGE interest with now over 10,000 views , with all the best racing yet to come and big prizes to be won, keep the comments and support coming lads, it is well appreciated... :emoticon-0123-party: :emoticon-0167-beer:
  20. scheduled for Monday...
  21. 13 pigeons clocked today, returns 90%... this has been a good tester for some of the pigeons, we will see if they have learnt anything now when the real rcaing begins!
  22. i certainly shall, no problem...
  23. no date set yet, next training flight is the first 'off shore' spin, 80 km (60+20km) i suppose Jose and the Team will have to assess the pigeons condition after yesterday training flight, more so the second day arrivals, plus what turns up tomorrow?
