Here is a standard for tiling roofs
-
For some strange reason it is the norm to put tiles/slate right onto the battons in england, where here in scotland we board and felt under the slate/tiles. I once had an old cottage with a tiled roof that when the snow was blustery, it in got into the attic area of the house. If you board it you will need roof vents or breathable ridge caps

I thought that would a strong argument that dog racing was viewed as a sport. Stronger petition possibilities. PETITIONING TO MAKE PIGEON RACING A SPORT THE SAME AS DOG RACING. PETITIONING TO MAKE PIGEON RACING A SPORT IN THE UK AS IT IS IN OTHER PLACES IN EUROPE
-
True, leave out the tax issue on the petitions, concentrate on the racing of pigeons being recognised as a sport the same as greyhounds etc
-
I am glad the webmaster changed blacklisted members to red, instantly noticable ;D ;D ;D
-
That is the problem, how many names does he have. Whatever your logged on as, please get in touch, I have your christmas hamper basket all ready for you
-
Your right, the goverment has indicated that the "council tax relief" given to organisations and sports is being reviewed. One of the ones being left of the list or being reviewed is the relief given to pigeon clubs premises where the house their baskets, as it is not considered a sports premises eligble for relief. I think it has now been shelved due to the backlash from fanciers through the media and directly.

You do inject for paramyxo before the race season http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1195378696/s-0/highlight-paramyxo/#num0
-
You posted a seperate thread and it is getting plenty of praise http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1196243247/s-new/#num10 Your above statement is a litte bit self centred, you are being taken seriously but not if you continue to act like this. There is more to pigeon life than the down sides, are you going to the night out at Blackpool?

Timbarra, as far as I am concerned you are beating around the bush in camoflage gear, but we won't be fooled by the sound of your drum playing the I'm alright jack song You seem to have forgot the first statement you made and to be honest i agree we should be taxed on it. !! why ? because pigeon fanciers in this country breed far to many rubbish pigeons from to many rubbish pigeons , therefore losing loads of what they breed. which adds to the growing problem of feral or wild pigeons hanging around and shitting all over the building in certain areas. which then means the local councils have to pay out for them to be exterminated and preventative measures being taken, and now they want us the pigeon hobbiest to start being resposible for adding to the problem, and shoulder some costs for which we in the past have never done.. well done the government about time to. And you can all think of it in a negative way or just turn it around in your favour? how ? by merging all this poor little clubs that send no more than 5 or 6 members a week . so cost would then come down individually !! and if you say ...well i will pack it in and not race anymore!! fine do that , just dont bang your gums over and over again.. moaning. work it to the hobby's advantage !!! I agree with the TAX .. we are getting of lightly , and the RPRA should have done something years ago and it would not have come to this .. but they sit on their arses taking your money and doing nowt. we have ourselves to blame so put ou or shut up guys.!! there is fighting for your right i know, but ask yourself this , where is the RPRA in all this, they have legal representation , why not let them fight our corner as they are our governing body? well they wont and do you know why? because they are a cowboy outfit with primative ideas and where have they taken the sport forward??? we have an image of flat caps and old men.... well we painted that image and have never painted another one since, so we have only ourselves to blame. look at Kieth Mott on the news, he didnt even have an answer at one point !!! god and this is the best we as a nation and supposed sport can do to defend ourselves... good job I was not next to him in a trence. it will happen and no matter how much gum banging you do, we as a fancy walked straight into it.. made our bed ,now were asked to lay in it.. and we will . trust you , me. so if you dont want to pay the taxes , get yourself off to the forest and live with robin hood, flt caps and green tights , nice combo!!!!

Timbara why can't a sport be your hobby as well? There will be all types of enjoyment from pigeons. Racing pigeons is a sport Selling pigeons is a business Keeping pigeons is a hobby I think you are not fussy about the tax because you no longer race and happy to sells so if all sales are declared you will pay and claim tax benefits as a business. Sellers can also include racing in the tax benefit to prove your stocks worth or not as the case may suit. Keeping some for a hobby is a great way to avoid the tax as well I still thing you are one of the I'm alright Jack Brigade :-/

People post a message on here refering to a post made earlier, with a number of posts inbetween. It looks like they are answering the post before their answer sometimes not the one posted earlier Whereas if you use the quote function then we know exactly what is being reffered to I thought it was simple :-/

it was a midweek club, the following reasons no one wanting to do any work members not sending there pigeons as it is not affiliated to any federation due to being a midweek club. so is the club not registered with the shu?? so is the club not registered with the shu?? i should hope not Fifer, the SHU would need to extend there radius by about 300 miles.
