  10. The one spot Ivermectin Drops 0.8% 10ml that we have gets rid of feather lice and mites, Luckily we have never had mites, also we use garlic in the baths, heather and lavender in the nests and duramitex on the perches I have also heard a beer mat soaked in creosote left to dry and place under nest bowls works as well Feather mite sits on the feather and causes a lot of irritatin they are easily seen on the feathers Itch mites burrow inth the feather shaft causing them to fall out, you will notice small pale spots on the underside of the feathers Red mite hang about on underside of perches and dark corners, they come out at night and feed on the birds blood

  15. Totally agree but only the unhealthy ones, not just cull them all because of one sick pigeon that has not been diagnosed yet. Alf out of interest would you offer the same advice to Kenny at the one loft race or would you try your best to sort the problem :-/
  16. Surely we are talking cross purposes here, I know that You don't keep racers because they are good looking if you intend them for racing but if you intend showing them then looks go a long way as do many other factors with show racers If you read all the posts you will see they are not racing pigeons he has :-/

  18. Your right and as I posted this very early in the thread you will see I agree with you but telling the guy to get rid of all his stock because of one bird that has not been diagnosed yet is my argument :-/
  19. Sorry my mistake Alf, I thought this was a dig at the fact we enjoy our fancy ones and and don't race our racers as yet, although we will be soon I agree that a bird with a twisted neck woudn't be very good at racing
  20. Each to their own Alf, no need to have a dig about the fact you race yours and we don't yet :-/
  21. I had one squab in the nest that developed a twisted neck, took it to the defra vets at Edinburgh, they post mortemed it and found the inflamation was due to menigitis, it's nest mate was fine and no other pigeon was affected and all droppings tests since then have been normal, like you say only speaking through what my experience has been in my time in pigeons :-/ So it is not the only way :-/
  22. Funny thing is they never spew on me they always seem to spew on Chickadee, she absolutely f#####g hates it ;D ;D ;D
  23. Surely not before he finds out what is wrong with them first :-/
