I have alwas thought that a lot of good could be done by getting back to the way things used to be with the birds. In fact if rings were not available till after the first of march pigeon racing or rather racing pigeons would be far happier.

Baytril is another antibiotic." -Bruno let me explain, not all antibiotics work in the same way. Baytril is an excellent bacteriacidal and works almost immediately. If the first antibiotic was a bacteriostatic e.g. Chloramphenicol and the salmonella challenge on the bird was too great when treatment started then the scenario outlined by Trapperjoe69 in his earlier post is perfectly reasonable. cheers

Leon's book is a bit more interesting but obviously a bit dated. Contains some of the usual old chestnuts like copper sulphate and some what more interestingly injecting birds with malucidin(spelling its a while since I read it) for cocci, he certainly new his stuff considering when he wrote the book!!
