I had to box a couple of hens for a few days as they were pairing together.

I paired mine on the 16th Jan. a bit earlier than normal for me but the forecast for the week was good plus the hens were starting to show to each other. Of the 12 pairs 10 were old pairs so no problems with them as they all knew their boxes and the last pair laid last night.

We have an LED light and next doors have a Halogen light, they both light up when my wife and next door go out for a smoke. They do light the loft up and you can hear the birds calling but this is usually only until about 11-00pm and not throughout the night.This has gone on for years but doesn't seem to be a problem for the birds.
