  1. even runners load up carbs on the day before a race,so for me having nothing to eat from a friday morning to a sat lib the birds have got to be hungry and low on fuel, even when you feed late on a night feel the birds crop in the morning nothing or very little in jmo but as me uncle used to say all roads lead to rome
  2. i have found when training give 5mins settle time before you let them go, and also if you take them to the same point this also helps but when your birds are in good form and motivated you will see a big differance in the time it takes to clear it doesnt matter where from they do 1 turn and off
  3. 3 races in club, turns so far 1x2nd 3x3rds 2x4ths 1x5th 2x6th 185birds average per race, in fed 11th 14 15 25 27th average 1600 birds no loses had 1 out over night returned today so happy lets hope the fed turns improve
  4. Solway feeders do great larson trapps for magpies and spring trapps for ratts use your imagination and stop been the victom protect your birds was hit two times three weeks ago but the problems gone now but the poor tumbler looks a bag of nerves

    E.T.S. Rip Off

Why do we have to go to the ets companys, why not cut the middle man out and the rpra, nehu, shu or any other go direct to the makers buy in bulk sell to the members and take a little to put back into the sport.
  11. i asked the vet about the dosage and if it would kill any bacteria, good or bad in the crop, his reply was at the right dosage it would do no harm to the birds but as for killing trichos, fungi, and in general bacteria in the crop he couldnot say how effective it would be unless you did a trial study, that is for v18 used it for 5 years now and still use it never had a problem
  12. we use vanodine v18 in the drinkers on a return from the race which is a iodine based disinfectant 4mill to 5litres,then just up the dose to disinfect loft surfaces and baskets kills everything according to the bottle,
  13. was told by a farmer that he came across a gossys nest in his local wood and the ground was litterd with red squirel tailes ,dont think it nested there the next year
  14. good corn farm beans and homoform,
  15. Booked into the loreto through the site, could not do enough for us £45 for 2 nights bb and me bowl of soup nd roll on return from show,15 mins walk from winter gardens or £6 taxi fare pity they didnt advertize earlyer so the pb members could fill it.
  16. if its a clearance sale i try to pick by eye through the pens first then handle, then look at performances then its ped set my self a budget and dont go beyond,at the general blackpool sales its mostley reductions or yearlings bred for to sell which normally make more than what its cost to buy direct, but i have paid £500 for a yb for stock and bid upto 1000 for a bird at a clearanc
  17. Dont think it makes a jot of differance if you paid for the system or got a grant, the point is if they told you at the time they intended to put 50% onto the rings keep adding updates £65 for insurance then block the system this year for you to phone in for a activation code, how many would of purchased unikon not me for one our club still has all the t3s and i think its just a matter of time before we use them, and as for the old and disabled how can they afford it when i work and i find it hard, unikon starting to think the con bits right.
  18. put 12 pair together on the 12th december in my back garden,8 pair layed within 13days 3pair by 19 days last pair yesterday but this was the last hen i purchased at p stobbs sale at nehu show, 2sets clear eggs but the same 2 cocks had clear eggs in there first set last year then filled fingers crossed.
  19. have a check cock that allways gives 2mins away at the home end, races right to the door then puffs chest out and clapps around happy to be home cost him the fed twice once by less than a second, not a flighty bird just frustrating
