  8. i think its a good idea id be up for it,will there be an auction afterwards aswell so ppl can buy the birds??
  9. well every one has there own opinion lads,at the moment most of my youn birds have 2-3 to go,so i must be doing something right,
  10. ill put 1 or maybe 2 younguns up for sure
  11. personnaly i want to stick to the old fashioned method of timing and taking the rubber of the bird and clocking it in myself
  12. i think there a gd idea however, whenever you send one of ive spoken to alot of fanciers they will always come back with something even if its a yeast infection,so you can buy your medications,so i think best tip is mate for the long run buy urself a microscope and then you can do all the testing you wont throughout the season and although there £115 i wouldnt be without one
  13. nah mate i havent been down his street in a while mate so i avent been able to see him but rest assured ill bump into him along the way and ill be sure to ask him for what you wanted mate!Dont worry i havent forgotten
  14. it is a touchy subject, lol i will probably get critisised now but i still would like to race to the old methods, bird coming home making him trap in and to get hold of the bird take the rubber off and time him in,but i can see the good points of the ets but i can also see some bad points
  15. agree with jimmy wat a cracking chequer
  16. lol homing ability is good but it istn racing tho?i want pigeons that can home in quick time, when people say homing ability i look at it a pigeon could home 3 weeks later and it could have homing ability and i dont want that

thanks bruno interesting post,as one flight of one of the best birds in my racing loft has moulted his flight before last and its only on one wing the flight looks slightly discoloured although it isnt fully grown yet, will have to wait and see what appens
  18. i only treat when i see something mate, not sure if there antibiotics but if i can see something in the microscope i treat the birds, for what i can see!I dont no if im doing wrong but i dont agree in just blind treating them no offense taken mate ;D
  19. the houbens are long distance birds, now it doesnt suprise me the marcellis can come out of all distances
  20. thanks rose
  21. lol aarden who dont know heartofengland auctions lol there in the books every week, yea i know mark evans his a top guy met him a few times, aarden thats one thing about pigeon fanciers there normally very sociable guys and from whereva in the country u can always have a gd crack, thats y i cant wait to blackpool!Ronnie always good to know your birds, in my shed i know what family of pigeon reacts to certain weather conditons and race,i also know nearly every pigeon on a one to one basis and know there characters, and i think you need to know your pigeons to become successful thats why im always banging on about how i like my pigeons to be tame on here, yea roundabout is quiet a good method mate.done it a few years they raced okay onit but others have had brillant results on it like geoff kirckland ect, however i raced on it a couple of years and then went back to widowhood,in which we race both cocks and hens.Yea its a brillant experience mate getting a pigeon from the combine/channel,ive never raced south but i get a kick from getting birds from the combine on the north its even better when uve bred a bird to win it like we did here from lerwick.Boy i tell ya you nothing can take away that experience
  22. will be interesting to find out where and how the houbens started now possibly through the sions,
  23. i dont think alot of auctions is a bad thing aldepends if you go to the right auctions.Down in london its very rare we get a auction down here unless its for charity or for a gold ring race!
  24. yea ronnie if youve found a system that you like use it but neva be afraid to try new things mate, constantly every year we change something slightly to try and improve our results, this year hopefully im going to do two different things with my two widowhood sections. So are you racing natural or widowhood the coming year
  25. aww really sorry to hear that.but if you want a couple for next year mate id be more then happy to help you ill send you a private message with my contact details
