i think all depends what sort of racing you want to achieve and also depends what you have got in the hopper.I mean many of the successful long distance fanciers have a hopper full of peas and beans infront of there birds all the time, but i think if it was the sprints you were hoping to achieve i dnt think hopper feeding would be the answer unless i feel it had a high amount of barley that you were feeding and you would know when the brids had had there fill as they would leave the barley

first of all 'Ok' you was overfeeding to early in the morning, they only needed a light feed in morning, 1/4 of an ounce, then an ounce in the evening. Change your feeding to once per day, only go to twice a day, a week before racing starts. When racing starts feed 1/4 of an ounce in morning then ounce in evening. At moment now my youngsters moults cleaned up im only feeding them an ounce per day, there flying with vigour and trapping on my call.

doesnt sound good "OK", how and what are you feeding, if it isnt the feeding they must be frightened for some reason.

if they are racing a bird still in your name,i am sure the positions it has achieved will be removed from the fancier, and is something that should be brought to your union!

everyone thinks they are experts on pigeons, everyone is an expert in there own mind but its the entire opposite! No one can be an expert unless they know 100% anything and everything about pigeons. I for one cannot say i do as i learn something new everyday from those interesting creatures. No matter what you do you will never know if you look after them right, feed them right, train them well enough, as every fancier has different theorys you may say one thing and someone else will say another. If you stick to one thing and have patience, and find out your mistakes along the way, you will soon discover a formula for success. But isnt it funny no luck is involved, if luck was the case you wouldnt have fanciers being at top of there game for 20 yrs
