    bloomin heck!

id like to get it in better condition and some better education before putting it in the first race,
  3. have to agree
  4. yes i have seen an attack, but this was in the case of 2 working as a pair, one chasing the birds up and flying lower then them, and one high diving right imbetween them. But have never seen one going in a straight line flying forwards catching up to a pigeon in flight and grabbing it.
  5. but flying in a straight line, they are infact slower then pigeons im lead to believe, hence the reason why they dive as they are very fast and can create a killer blow. But if they flew in a straight line been told they would never catch our feathered friends.

    WARNING

another update from bilco Solar activity is expected to remain quiet for the next 48 hours. The flaring activity from NOAA AR 0963 decreased during the past 24 hours, and the global soft Xray flux dropped significantly. Its magnetic type is now beta, but there is still a small chance of C-class flaring activity. Geomagnetic activity is expected to be mostly quiet during the next 48 hours, With possible isolated unsettled conditions as the Earth is still within a high-speed solar wind stream emanating from a recurrent coronal hole. Current readings of the solar wind speed measured by the ACE spacecraft are about 550 km/s.

    WARNING

don't think so andy! quoted from bilco of chat "This morning's (at 05.00) LASCO MPEG showed that NOAA AR 0963 was brewing well, and a fast solar wind was coming off the Eastern+ limb of the solar disc. There seems also to be another infant flare not far (2 days) behind 0963, and that too looks spiteful. Based on these photos I'd suggest leaving YBs in the loft this weekend. If it all subsides then OK, go right ahead and chuck a few bricks, I won't mind. But to me it says "No" - sorry I can't be more precise at this moment. Cheers,"
  8. i believe its the tameness of the birds, if you dont spend alot of time and patience getting the birds used to you and other people no matter how hard you try you wont be able to achieve this i feel. I may be wrong but at shows like blackpool they normally have pouters on top of the pens and they will fight with you and coo about and show no fear

how far isit to you ben? Are you preparing your birds right for the race if its a distance race?
  14. "the birds also had eleven flights in one wing. He was a very good racer. Maybe just coincidence" you also seemed very skeptical on the subject.Course it is a theory, i understand what your saying but not every big winner as you say has 11 flights, or the 11 flighted pigeons have won prizes.Over the years I have never found an 11 flighted pigeon that raced no different to birds that were 10 flighted, meaning raced no better or no worse. I understand everyone has there own beliefs, but to me the 11 flight situation is a theory and just my personal belief, till the day when I visit a lofts and continually see pigeons with 11 flights and lists of performances then i may start believing, but because i havent seen it in my time of handling these performance pigeon it in my eyes will still be classed as theory. But in no way or form am i trying to push my beliefs onto you, i respect what people wish to believe in
  15. i personally think the 11 flighted situation is also just a theory
  16. the ring is made as an all in one, as an id ring and a chip ring so there isnt the need for 2 different rings
  17. rose you can remove the chip and put it into these rings?
  18. they look a credit to you
  19. like ya said the ring of the future, i have no interest in how they look personnally but i know alot of ring collectors will! Thnaks for the posting ben! Good to see what the new products look like
  20. Hello, I noticed you mentioned my name so hence you will get a reply. You are right in saying I am interested mainly in pigeon racing, however what you did and don't know about me is that I do keep the odd pair of fancy bred Nun pigeons, and i have been to the odd few fancy pigeon shows. At these shows i have seen birds i was interested in such as the Spanish theif pouters, modenas, and show homers and have asked certain people at these shows how much per pair and have been astonished by some of the prices they have quoted me, especially as i would have no interest in showing the birds in a fancy show, just kept at the loft for eye candy purposes. There is over pricing in both the fancy and racing fancies, it is becoming ridiculous. But the prices i have been quoted before for show homers is there about the price that these birds have been put up for! Like many have said if you don't like the price no one is forcing your arm up your back to purchase! Cheers.
  21. I'm guessing not if so its a bit short notice, unless someone gets one up and running very soon.
  22. hear hear, i for one believe this post has gone way out of proportion,
  23. yes very well done for becoming 1st club and 2nd station
  24. safflower also has one of the most nutritional values of fat then any other seed, hence the reason why many distance fanciers use this!
  25. to make hens pair up with ya its not spending alot of time just alittle bit of time, touching her crop and stroking her back as she brushes towards you, noticed the easiest way at first is having hens boxed to get super rank, then start calling like a cock would do and you will notice some hens will even crouch thinking your the cock bird to try and tread her.
