  1. hi sue don't be so disheartend, like you said you cannot tell from just 2 ybs next year breed him 6, he may have a higher success rate. Cheers Ryan
  2. im a newbie to eyesign but number 2 eye is of very good quality, and would rate it highly. However the eye of number 1 for me is just missing something, i would like to see the 3-7 o clock shading like number 2 has. However paring pearl eyes to yellow eyes i believe is recommended but ive had good parings with two yellow eyes paired together. But number 2 in my opinion has a class eye.
  3. although i think you will agree nico, the photo of the young birds doesnt show them in there true light
  4. glad you enjoyed your visit some gd quality photographs there nico

    first race

also dnt get to excited, if you call your birds 'Come On', as the change of tone in your voice will put the birds on edge, try and stay calm if you call your birds, trust me you'll find it hard not to get excited, lol thats why this year found a whistle a useful tool.
  6. Like White Rapido man said, there lines would be very diluted now if kept pure, and the racing and homing abillity would have surely have deteriated with continous inbreeding, possibly the reason why we don't hear many if anyone doing to well witht them in this day and age, but as rapido said many years ago the Logans were some of the best birds at the distance.
  7. alot of people are buying rings of ebay and putting it on there young birds, which is going against the rules, the bird is more then likely scottish or english
  8. Hello andy you need as much education as possible mate, id like to get them to at least one time at 30 miles before first race, Don't rush the young birds worse thing you can do, you have plenty of time, and alot of my young birds i give there first race at 114 miles. BUT EDUCATION IS THE KEY, only the well educated pigeons i send to the first race here at 58 miles, and the following one at 74 miles. Don't rush, slowly slowly, catch a monkey! My promising cocks will get as much education as possible, they will maybe go to 3-4 races upto 130 mile, then all the rest will be sent on throughout the programme. Cock birds i feel need the education of the race. Take your time young birds are your future, STRICT SELECTION will make alot of people better fanciers. Choose a point that you want your young birds to achieve, and select from that may it be consistency back to the loft, may have to reach a certain position in club level, you all make your own selection. P.S a yb on saturday, which is a half brother to one of your ybs i bred you andy was 2nd club on saturday. ;)
