  1. in my opinion on couriers i go for one that has a good reprutation in getting the birds and dropping in my area, mainly by word of mouth from other fanciers. But one thing i go on is reliablity, i dont want couriers telling me they arent going that way for 2 weeks, as this isnt reliable enough for me, if i place an order i want it whens best for me and the other fancier concerned. Especially regarding young if you have to wait 2 weeks for collection the babies could have started perching by then. i want someone who when i ring says that it isnt a problem and you will have your bird the morning after collection. Maybe im old fashioned, or just a big fan of the way amtrack was very reliable for us.

  3. a good flier who has now passed used to let algae lie on top of his drinker he would just top up daily, but never remove the algae, he said the birds prefered it as it was more natural, he was at the top of the game for a good few years untill he passed away. personally wouldnt do it myself but never stopped him winning out of turn

  5. well in my experience if you have a red and a mealy, with black they are generally cocks.
  6. if the reds got black anywhere in its tail or wing its a cock, if it has brown splashes its a hen

  8. Secrets Of Champions VI, would be a good buy at the blackpool show, will teach you alot on ventilation. Good pigeons will not win in a poor loft, and in my view a good loft is a well ventilated one, with no droughts or dampness
