The silver case quartz was the very first ones ,must be about 25 years old if not more.I had one when they first came out.

I have a good pair of glasses but seldom wear them. The ones I use most often, I got from fellow pigeon club member Charlie Rae,they were £2 from a shop in Blackpool. ;D ;D ;D

I would just like to thank Ian,Marlene and John Norris(the cook) for another great afternoon at Kingslea. The barbie and the beers were spot on again,plenty for everyone while waiting for the birds to arrive. Cant wait for next year. Mybe Ian will post some photos.

Ive collected from the stray centre a couple of times and for what it is,its ok. If anyone can do better,put your ideas forward to the SHU and next year the job could be yours. We only get what we pay for.

Question Blackswan - Do you actually race pigeons,if so how many did you send and how many did you loose today. Looking through the threds today most Scottish Feds had a good race,so where do you get your %ages from. coocoo land.

The ETS ring carries our SHU number,no one should reissue that ring without permission from the owner.

People who Know me as you must,its getting on with my own birds and racing them that I am most concerned with. Being Fed Sec,I can take it or leave it. But I think as Sec I should stick up for the Fed and post the facts,if no one posted a reply to the original post what woud people on this forum think. If it was me I would be saying that must be right as no one has contested what has been posted. To answere you last question,there is absolutely nothing in what the post was saying.

The thing that gets me is the original post seems to want to lay the blame for the supposed 55% bird lose at Thornton 2/8/08 on the organisers of the race one way or another. Fact: It was a perfect racing day for us with a s/w wind, as the winning birds showed. Fact: Most of the people that went to the first races had a good race with very good returns. Fact: No one has phoned me to complane about big losses. Fact: Most of the birds reported to me and other club Secs are just a few Mls from the race point. Fact: the organisers did nothing wrong leeding up to the release of the birds. So what caused these supposed 55% losses.

I can tell you about my two which are in ladybank, 12mls from Thornton,they are flown out.

Going by the posts on PB and phone calls I am getting about Aberdeen pigeons from Saturdays race entering lofts,I can tell everyone who is interested the majority of these reported pigeons did not reach Dundee.
