Twice would be better after morning and afternoon exercise but you could do once no problem just making sure not to over feed

Race season or winter?

Hopper feeding is fine for the winter. You must make sure that it cannot become contaminated and make sure any vermin are kept under control. For raceing plenty will say no problem but for me no. Control is greater thru feeding and even if you are only at the loft once a day during raceing then they will adjust to YOUR routine. As you will only be raceing young birds( I guess) then control is everything on a tight time regime.

Ybs if managed properly and caught early ( no proper racing Man should ever be caught out in my opinion) is over and done with in less than a week. As has been stated have won with a team that were treated and returned to duty when fit. Have syringe fed poorly birds bringing them back from deaths door and won with them, so constitution maybe not with all?

I use adenosan sometimes. Sometimes I go nat yog route. I built a hospital that has a strict admittance strategy and I think that has really helped

Roly. You are obviously doing something diffo from the rest of us. Do you train? What age do you start. When do you start breeding. What do you feed them.....this I assume what Ian is asking for so instead of telling us that you have never had it tell us what you are doing so we can find the common denominator

I have had it. I have had it in naturals. I have had it in darkies. I have had it before training. I have had it during racing. I have had it BAD. I have had MILD. This year I NEVER had it???? FOOK KNOWS!!!

Surely a club official, any club you are a member of allocates your birds ets?

Should just be a change of software by the maker. It is a good idea regards strays and the stealing of ets rings and indeed the racing of birds not owned.......the downside is that good racers would not get their birds back and of course it is just the same as a name and address ring so not for the shu

Think he means that the owner of the ets ring would have his name address embed in the chip as well as the birds details. When it enters your loft you could scan it on yer own clock and see who it belongs to. This has its obvious drawbacks also

They come from everywhere from all distances Frank. Way back in the eighties I watched JJ(Dunn) Graham clock a bird from Rennes to be well in the result coming into the village from the North, clocked a 1st sect a winner from Ypres in a tough race again coming from the North. Would you let yer YBs out on a race day?

These batches that mill up and doon the Annan water valley should get intae that race mode not to mention mine that overshoot in a tail wind lol
