Can anyone help i was given a pigeon when i first started up from a man in wales it was an old stock bird he gave me his telephone number and told me that when i was next down there give him a ring and he would sort the pedigrees out and also give me another bird which is his nest mate. I ended up loosing the phone number and can not find out who he was, but the cock he gave me has bred me a few youngsters this year and im wanting to do the pedigrees. He told me that he was a direct son of young bull (Janson) his ring number is WHU 00 T 0934 is there any way of finding out this birds history and also if he was a direct young bull then also young bulls history to compleate the pedigree.

I would also like to thank Dave (my dad) for helping us out today when SPDS totally messed up by bringing a bird to Leeds a week early for us and was for some reason picked up from Leeds by another courier from down south, luckly the pigeons were dropped at Uk pigeon couriers in Cheshire after the courier driver from the south realised the mistake. Thank you.. Daryl & Julie

After already lowering our prices we have been looking into making the Scotish prices even cheaper. We are planning on doing a Scottish run ourselfs every Monday, by doing this it would cut the added cost of SPDS The current charge for our service to Scotland is £40 The only down side to this weekly service is all pigeons brought down from Scotland would have to be held over for up to 4 days, during this time though the pigeons will be held in holding pens and given both food and water. this would also apply to birds going into Scotland, By doing this we can bring the cost of the service to the same as what we charge in England £32.50p for up to 3 birds then £2 per bird after. Could you please give us feed back on the fanciers thoughts with regards to this service, before we make the desicion as to which servie would work best in the long run

My name is julie, i run Pigeon Force couriers with Daryl. Can i just say that i have worked all my life from sticking carpet on cardboard to Special needs teacher, but i I have never witnessed so much blood sweat and tears with running this business with daryl and see the hard work and dedication he puts into, not only providing people with a delivery service, but also providing trust and honesty and top class customer service do you realise how many cups of tea daryl has to turn down because of the rush to get the pigeons to there destinations!!! He meet so many friendly people that thank him and make the job worth while people that are not satified with what service each individual courier provides try another and another and eventually the strongest and most dedicated will shine through. There are so many good points in being a pigeon courier, meeting lovely people travelling the uk knowing that you are providing a top class service, the down side is when people go on about being ripped off, let down and can always do one better. Why do we always have to resort to big nob companies taking over why not let the small businesses have a chance. The world is over run by these big companies, yes they could provide a faster service but how long does that last. keep the small ones going they already have to fight against the government why should we have to fight against the people we are trying to help. 9 out of 10 times the couriers are fanciers them selves and can care for the pigeons whilst in thier hands! your comments are right not everybody can be satisfied we all have to make mistakes and learn but with a bit of support from our fellow fanciers we could get this right!!!!! I had to have my say and dont want to offend anybody lets just make life easier for us all

The thing is it might sound really good having 20 drops to scotland for £800, but bear in mind you have to pick them up first so half the £800 Then cost of diesel for both pick up and drop off cost of boxes, shavings etc then any toll bridges involved wear and tare of van, insurance (which for me is nearly £3000 a year)tax etc and then my own labour charges. phone calls to customers and the chance of getting 20 jobs to scotland in a week is very slim more like 5

I know there would be people out there who would but they have to understand a pigeon picked up in Kent and sent to Aberdeen for £40 is a really good price, when Amtrack was around people complained , when the went they complained and now there is couriers out there trying there best to help fanciers they still complain, its a no win situation , sme people just like to complain. lol
-
I think all the couriers are doing a very good job in getting the birds round the country and the pricing for the work is a fair price, all the fanciers agree too not had one who has complained up to date

FLYIN COURIERS09 WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED
pigeonforce replied to flyin.couriers09's topic in Notice Board
Glad yor ok Wayne , i totally understand the hours you were doing when i started up with my dad (David Thornton, Uk Pigeon Couriers) back in January there was only 3 of us driving Dave,Julie and myself, we managed to get all the pigeons there within 24 hours but to do this it was crazy some times with me taking a sleeping bag and getting not alot of sleep and then driving. so i totaly agree with you on the falling asleep at the wheel although i never did it, it could happen easy to any of us. Glad to hear your getting better and good luck for the future Daryl & Julie -
This is true there is rats everywhere and i think its just another excuse for the council to use :-/
-
I spoke to a chap tonight who has had the same problem he has no argument though as his loft is 30ft long and only just fits in his garden , he lost because it was too close to the next house, and the council accused him of causing rats to breed under his lofts even though they are on a concrete base which is 1ft of the ground, its nothing to do with his neighbours gardens been over grown and filled with litter, and thats them who reported it to the council in the first place, its crazy ;D
