was out the WEST INDIES with the Marines, and once visited a sugar factory, seeing the sugar being made from the sugar cane, and the extract from it was black treacle which if I remember rightly was then used for making rum, another one was away back when i was at school we had the old school nurse who was there to see to you if you were not well etc, and I remember some not so well off youngsters went once a week to her to get their small tin of treacle, what for I dont know, but must have had some form for health
