was a lot easy back in those days you just took your basket of birds down to the railway station (and there was a lot more of them around) with lib details on, and off they went and liberated at the named station, went back to the station next day and picked up your returned basket, in LEVEN we had a old carriage on the station for marking race birds and were put right onto the train to the race point , all other clubs birds picked up on the way , and lib-berated at the race point,

for lots of fanciers going back a bit that was the main feed if not the only , is the tick beans you get today not the same, and you used to get small 4LB bags of pigeon mixture at the cooperative, the beans you got at the farms, when you went out working on the farms picking potatoes ,instead of brining home a small bag of potatoes it was beans for the birds ,

very smart looking bird,

going back in the old days i know it was a done thing getting birds out early in the morning, they used to be sky high and for long periods,

oh , in earnest have a good new year m8, Thankyou Archie and the same to you and yours. the joys of Nursing, no special days in our jobs or those of all our emergency services.

I have wee fifer who always comes to bring in the new year, have had my Family visiting during the day, so me and my wee dog Paige just passing time until then
