  2. Its not cold enouth yet,and wont be very hungry as there is still enouth to catch,when it starts getting really cold watch out for it then,it happens every year were i am so i am always on the lookout when its very cold and my birds are out.

  8. in 1990 i had a bad training toss from newark 47 mls,waited until it was dark to lock up then stood up at top of the garden talking to another fancier,to my astonishment i had 3 pigeons fly straight up the allotments and land on my loft, we only noticed them because they were white pieds and the house lights stood them out.The rest came the next day but the 3 must have been flying at least 20 minutes in the dark,all 3 were berlange delbars.
  9. i bred him mick from a direct son of stamvater when paired to sheer elegance,his dam was a dtr of joker,g.sire been arjaan of louella.he is sire 4 generations down 1st prize winners and is on loan this year .

    Dave Downing has some good van reets,he usually advertises around this time,i had a few off him and a friend bought them off me as he was van reet mad,they have all gone on to breed winners.

  14. i think to send your birds 50 mls 1st toss is just ruthless to your birds because when they miss you then tend to take it out of there parents.

    john crowder does still have them,he has some corkers,all pencil blue pieds,a friend bought 3 pairs from him last years and there youngsters won,great stuff for an old breed.
  16. i think if i had to go and get some busschearts again i would go for the old twirler lines from louella, i had the old dark corbetts years ago they flew steady as youngsters but were winners as yearlings.

  18. now the dordins they do make excellent pigeons crossed into the janssen pigeons,i have seen many good racers bred 50% dordin 50 % janssen.

    It scares you to hell when you buy expensive stock ,it keeps you worried until they turn up with the bird/s.
