  2. with 5 pairs of stock birds,2 rounds breed you 20 youngsters, you would do more winning with 20 quality youngsters bred by yourself and also testing your own stock out would be just has good or even better.but louella i have had some fantastic pigeons from them over the years.

  5. you can get top birds same has m&d evans birds from D.J.Hawkins dunsville,i think he has some of the top vandenabeeles around thats winning class races and has them from everytop breeder of m&d evans birds, plus he races and tests them out in the m.n.f.c and other classic clubs.dont think you will go far wrong buying from him even though i think he aswell has a waiting list. Les
  6. Have you tried sprinting on these, especially widow cocks,i think it will open your eyes,it surely opened mine.
  7. all come down from the originals from arendonk, but the most famous fanciers to have them at there best are Smeulders,Jan Loots, De Klak,i think if you want the old type then these are the lines you want them from,oh i forgot about albert van der flaes,he liked the rode vossen lines bred down from the old wondervoske 45..remember He&Het schoon voske the red golden pair of the netherlands ,later bought by Freek Romein, who bred the fantastic "rooie appie" 18x1st prizes.Later bought by Henk Kuijlaars.Hope this helps i could go on and on, ;D
  8. there sprinters bud,i have a small family of them through maurice voets ,belguim and a lad off basics, top stuff, especially if you get the right ones. Les
  9. i guess this youngster will be a cracker, for someone wanting the old muelman strain its a bargain, not so many bred like this available now, timbarra ha stuck to this breed like glue.
  10. yes i agree, different strains fly better in different locations, the harder the land the harder the pigeons you need. Those pigeons the fly the full distance into scotland are very hard good pigeons,on flat land into yorkshire maybe wouldnt win,?
  11. yes bud, these lines were the real mc,coy i had all of these lines way back in 1986-1993,bredloads of good pigeons, pity i didnt realise how good they really were back then,i definatly would have maintained a family of them, things you dont realise and before you know it there gone. Les

Les

  16. Hi does anyone still race the old lines of louella ie,stamvater, sheer elegance ,de rode zot ,arjan lines and still win top races with them, these lines i had years ago and were just fantastic birds. Les
  17. Best 1 ive read is loft stock & barrel by Barry Mc nicholas, great book and still flick through it now. Les
  18. on handling pigeons i like to feel well pronounced pectorial muscles on both the cocks and hens, after all this is what they use to push themselves forwards at speed, just like the sprinting athletes, big and full of muscle.( i dont mean massive pigeons).
  19. push them has far has u want to,they will do it,but i dont think they will sprint again once you put them over the channel.
  20. i use to have some dark velved vanden bosch with a little bronze running through them,i use to come out with the first prizes regulary with these birds, they won races aswell. ;D Les
