  1. Mike, This isn't a fruitful argument in favour of ETS, but certainly fruitful reasons why our Club will be using it this year. 1) We have fanciers that due to their shift patterns would previously not send to a race because they don't have anyone to clock their birds in, but now they don't have such a problem. This way they don't miss any races and their birds are timed, no problem at all. 2) There are also some elderly members who aren't quite as mobile as some and do find it very difficult in catching their birds on race days and moving swiftly to time in. Now they will be able to relax a bit on Saturdays and enjoy the sight of their birds being timed as they enter the loft. 3) Now we move on to the members that suffer from pigeon lung. By having the ETS installed they don't have to enter the loft so often to catch birds to time in, this can only help with their condition. 4) This is where I benefit...............Having a young family you never know when you just have to drop things and go in emergencies, which could be on race days. With the ETS I don't have to worry about the birds not getting timed in and me being annoyed for the rest of the weekend. 5) The system also reduces the workload for all the members, especially the secretary. At the touch of a key the clocks will be checked and at the touch of another the result will be printed............no hassle. It will also the reduce the chance of human error. All in all the whole Club will benefit from the system, which will allow them to enjoy their pigeons to the full.............is that not what it's all about?? No arguments, no personal attacks, just solid reasons why we'll be using ETS. Roundo.
  2. I wasn't going to post anything else regards ETS on the Forum but I feel I must apologise to those of you out there that couldn't care less what timing system fanciers use as this all seems to have started from a SIMPLE message I posted regards a TauRIS demo. Sorry to those concerned. It wouldn't be a bad idea to stop posting against this topic and perhaps certain members wouldn't have anything to rant about.........it's getting rather boring. I can see how some members are having nothing to do with it and have already left the Forum. Roundo.
  3. Thank goodness for that.........great move. Roundo.
  4. For all those that are interested........ The demo/training went very well and I'm sure TauRIS will be doing more sessions around the country very soon. The End.
  5. Mike I think you will find it was Hyacinth that asked the question, not me. Roundo.
  6. At the start I wasn't really for these type of systems, but having seen a complete demo and knowing exactly what it can do and with very little ease, I do believe this will be the way forward, but you will still get the fanciers that don't like change. At the end of the day it's up to each individual fanciers what timing method he wants to use. The TauRIS system was purchased for my Club as it will be of great benefit to all the members one way or another. Jas, I think the system can control up to 10 races at once, but I'm not 100% as I'm still learning about it myself. I'll find out and let you know. Roundo.
  7. Andy, Yes, they have upgraded. This is called the memory module, which is already connected in the loft, and when you take your clock to the club the module will continue to record the birds arrival. Then when you returned all you do is connect your clock back up and this will record the birds that had arrived while you were at the club............simple. This must be very similar to the Unikon system that you use?? Clockman, Yes, you get the base station FOC with TauRIS, plus all the other equipment that the club requires.............well at least that's what my club got and I think it will be the same for others. Hope this helps?? Roundo
  8. Clockman, I've sent you a PM. Regards, Roundo.
  9. Hyacinth, I gather you have used both systems?? with you saying that Unikon is better. I'm sure both systems are just as good as one another, but at the end of the day it's upto each individual what type they use. Roundo.
  10. Demonstration Come a long and see how the system operates and have your questions answered by the experts. All fanciers are more than welcome to join us. Roundo.
  11. Scottish Fanciers. TauRIS are holding a system demonstration this Saturday (18th March) in Newbridge Bowling Club near Edinburgh starting 12noon approx. If any Scottish fanciers are interested then please feel free to come along and see it. PM for more details/info..........I'll be more than happy to help out. Roundo.
  12. I think fanciers that are buying birds in from other parts of Europe just now are asking for trouble............especially the way things are with Avian Flu. If Europa One Loft Race aren't allowed to accept ybs from other parts of the world I don't see how this is any different for other fanciers. Lets all get togother on this one and be sensible. Roundo.
  13. Shadow You are right mate. I'm a bit like that myself. Hopefully things will change for the better and at least let us all enjoy some sort of racing. This will certainly hit the large studs very hard. Cheers, Roundo.

  15. I will have a limited number of ybs for sale from my stock and race birds available very soon. They will all be bred from what others rate as the best winning family of birds in Britain just now. Winners reported. PM for details and price................priced to race. Roundo.

    Grizzle Yb's

I'm currently looking for grizzle ybs for my young sons. Can I ask if there are any members who have grizzles or if anyone knows a fancier that I could get in touch with?? Any info would be much appreciated. Roundo.
  18. It's upto each fancier what timing method they want to use. Lets move with the times and get on with racing our birds. Roundo.
  19. I've heard that there are some fanciers in the Scottish Midland area are using Tauris. I'd love to hear from any of you. Cheers, Roundo.
  20. Scottish fanciers. Are there any of you currently using the above system?? or know of fanciers who are?? I'd be very interested to hear more about it. Cheers, Roundo.
  21. This was the first time for a number of years that we've stayed over for the whole weekend and what a brilliant time we had. It was good to meet up with old and new fanciers, plus some really top fliers. Certainly a really enjoyable time. All the best. Roundo

    Staf Van Reet

A friend of mine is on the look out for a suitable SVR cock to put to stock. If there is anyone out there that can help then please send the details to me and a picture if possible. He would prefer the cock to be no older than 5yrs. Cheers, Roundo.
  24. I will accept the first offer of £200 for the two cocks, or will sell separately. Roundo.
  25. Pedigrees and pictures are available if anyone requires to see them. There has already been some good interest for these birds, but nothing confirmed as of yet. Roundo.
