  6. think you can get distance bloodlines to sprint depending on how you feed bit sprint based bloodlines i'm not so sure.me personally i've lost a lot of good birds at the distance that were sprint bloodlines because the race velocities were lower i.e longer on the wing than anticipated and i think my birds just didn't have the stamina required

  11. only ever had 1 frank 16hrs 45mins out of brussells with the scc timed her at 10.40 pm to be 28th open a few years back she was a delbar hen i lost her of the top of the loft the following year when she was out exercising

    silly mistake

    when i was about 10 i took a blue hen up to our local show while my dad was working alomg with some others we called this hen the annie bowes hen as she was a gift from the aforementioned anyway the hen won the class and went on to win best in show the same day.broke my legs to get home and tell dad about our success only for him too go ballistic turned out the hen wasn't transferred and he ad to apologise too all the other members and they were a lot of them in those days (dissappointed)(dissappointed)

  16. you don't have to throw them away when you pair up put the nest bowl on top of them it allows the air to circulate around the bowl but obviously i don't know how your nest boxes are set up

  18. personally i don't think birds like standing on grills look at your 1st photo babybird 3 of the 5 birds are standing on the perch rather than the grill but apart from that looks good
  19. my racing loft is isulated with 2 inch thick polystyrene back, 2 sides and half way up on the front and has been for years with no unwanted visitors
  20. me anaw i'm away from 7.30 in the morning till 6.15 at night manage to get home at dinnertime for 15 mins to feed and water them tho' doesnt do them any harm tho'

  24. just like to say a big thankyou to wayne of flyin couriers for picking my bird up in kidderminster and delivering it direct to me,although he was a bit behind scedule the bird arrived in a1 condition and for the price of £30 to me great value for money considering i was quoted £45 by 2 other couriers,great service thanks martin central scotland
  25. yes your right i have been lucky but things don't last forever hence new birds in this year but if their not up to scratch out they will go
