  1. Now I have about 20K left to use, which I will. This doesn't burn the eyes as such as it may well have done in the past if left to cloud up with the wind of the birds flying. I used wet it and paint on like a paint. Also rubbed I'd rub it in with a damp cloth. Sweet smelling and one that does good as I believe. But these views, like everyone elses, are mostly from personally expierences, or well intentionally inform. So we al must wiegh up, and decide EVERYDAY just what is our best actions regarding the birds health and condition. JMO.
  2. Garden lime, has now been altered a lot with a certain ingrediant that 'Burned' as such. Which has neen taken out of the Garden lime. Incidently the 'Burning of the Roots in Plants / Flowers etc. was aboo Hence why pigeon droppings were never placed direct via good gardeners, but allowed to be washed into the root via the rain, and is mainly used / put down in October etc. YET Garden lime was placed next to the roots ... maybe to keep them warm in the cold weather besides distroying many nasties. Likewise the LIME placed in the troughs for cattle, and minerals - like the ice block rock salt were frequently obtained and encouraged via fanciers until the 'Crop Spraying' pestilants gave most a worrying scare. Just look at the Bricks / lime pecked out in buildings frequented via the ferals - which incidently don't do out reputation much good to say the least in regards 'Pigeons' as such. Yet then, and now, these very same things are often still a boon to our birds. Likewise when race days done fielding was encouraged. Now I have about 20
  3. You know, and I.B is one that have a view that because of it's make up 'Garden Lime' is likely to contribute to Ecoli etc. Indeed a very good fancier only the week before last, offered me some advice freely on the same lines. All I can say is that this way, most in our S.Rd Club, put half a handful in the water overnight and let it settle. Y/B sickness seemed never to bother us. Indeed I still fortunately haven't had it. May add, that the good fanciers advice 2 weeks ago was heeded. However the nest bowls that sit on top of lime are far better in terms of Droppings and clenseliness. Indeed although not taken even internally, it has better youngsters? Why - I know only one answer to Why! Well because, as I believe, it does a very good job of keeping away any nasty's. Yes I use Vikron every day. I also burn the wood etc. where the Drinker sit on. Yes I remove and clean the bowls and nest boxes very day. Yet these nest bowls, the youngster are definately marginally better than those with out. Mind ALL my youngsters so far are very good compared to the past few seasons etc. Just my thoughts and observations.
  4. as wings says... THE SAME TORIES THAT PUT THE SOILDIER IN 1927 WITH A SHOT TO KILL THE PPL THAT WERE TRYING TO GET FOOD OR A JOB AND THE SAME TORIES THAT PAID THE POLICE A POND A MINET TO BREAK THE MINERS STRIKE. The same Tories like Baldwin and Churchill that told the miners that they had to work another 12 hours per wek, and have a 50% wage cut... Then sent the troops in to shoot an6y that fell out of line. They were - the poor troops - covered in the contents of P**s Pots that were threw over them up the Rhodda Valley. No wonder, and quite rightly was Churchill hated. He and Spence - princessDianes family, raised millions to invest in Crupts of Germany. Yes they very same that were making tanks and guns etc. etc. Only trouble was there was no war. So he spent 13 years propogandering to get it started. It certainly did too.... Then all our good machinary after the war was shipped to restock Germany etc.
  5. You know, as Thatcher mused, the fight against the miners started in 1976 when the Tories weren’t in power. They drew up plans then how to defeat the miner – then the Dockers etc. In late 1979 – early 1980 police forces spent 2 – 3 day then as to how to best handle the miner’s strikes. Especially Northants Constabulary. They were even on overtime then! Now her rich friend invested in Brazil etc for cheap coal and bought them out! Now it needed the mines to be shut! Germany, funnily enough, where we started to get loads of coal from, cost £56 a ton to produce. British coal was £26 plus £3 to make it smokeless. So the German government – like others – subsidised it via £28 per tonne making it a £1 a tonne cheaper…. Yet rather than subsidise our coal via a £1 a tonne and keep the mines open, where they paid taxes, NI stamp etc. etc. she threw out nigh a million – knock on effect – and paid them £millions - out of depleted coffers - a means tested not to work … couldn’t work because there were no jobs available. AND remember our coal was / is without doubt the best in the world, another Fact. So the cow then had to sell our silver ware to offset lost income! Clever that, but it made her hoppo’s rich, and the workers paid for them.. So now we subsidise the Railways times more to keep running (about 8 times in real terms) and YET still the ‘Board of rogues’ get great wages and bonuses. Likewise with OUR gas, which I’ve never had my cheque for yet by the way! Likewise with our water, our electric and so on and so forth. Now the killings have been made, and they are opening mines up and use open ground. Still places like Coalville have vast amounts to be brought up. And the Chameleon thinks that she was right, and will follow on in her wake! Then the best steel in the world! With our coal and small part Swedish ore the WORLD was able to do things with steel that no other blend could get near! Best steel in world, and then throw them on the dole to drain our already over burden coffers! Clever that…. But it made he cliché rich! And so on and so forth. And the Tory chairman Norman said 'If you want a job, do like your forefathers did and get on yer bike'''''''''''1 Psst Maggie, Norman, has given all our jobs to her overseas invested, and as such they have work, and we have none!
  6. Ditto Pigeon Pete. I nearly went for it myself ... decided to ask around and waittansee first. Will definately think thrice now, if at all. Mind I think it is advertised as a preventive as to a cure. Hence as such wouldn't be a cure so if birds were already affected, or carrying, then I think it would be deemed as of no use. But perhaps I will be corrected if wrong.
  7. spin cycle says ' .....well unemployment hit 2.5 million yesterday...so did the bailout work....' etc. Well that is far far better that Thatcher 7 million! And that wasn't a Global recession brought on by her selfish regime of giving the Banks 'Carm Blanche' in their greed! 'What did she spout? 'It is obsurb to restrict able and experience concern in their' ..... 'Their Rights' 'Just who does one thing they are to restrict those that know better, and have dealings every day ...' etc. etc. Well we all know the answer to that after the Global crisis she instigated. Yes Hilary Clinton was as bad, and quickly follow suit in her evil greed too.... Good job the actor never saw that coming. But then again he was just a hand puppet. Further the USA were lucky that Hilary's lot was in power at the time eh!
  8. Well that's sorted then eh! Outside of you not giving a 'Rat's Behind' as 'none of your business what so ever and couldnt care less if you were interested or not' fai dues that. But then again as you were out of order, then who really gives a jot whether you are or not... Pssst regardless what you think I was right in my post. Good luck with your sale.
  9. For sure, Chameleon faces a future without absolute authority over his government. As yet, it's unclear what lures were needed to bring the Liberal Democrats into an alliance capable of commanding a majority in Parliament. But it's certain that this will be an uneasy coalition of the center right and the center left or outright Right, after all as he says he loved Thatcher, and even worse her policies. Polls show that a clear majority of Liberal Democrat supporters would have favored a deal with Labour rather than the Conservatives. Only two days ago, senior Lib Dems were balking in the press at the prospect of almost any agreement with their old adversaries. Yep will be back at the polls in six months. Rather, personally later, as tat will give Millaband or whoever a chance to take a leaf out of the Chameleon's book sell a few pork pies. Sure, like I say, and everyone with na little brain power knows, none can lie straight in bed. So not only pork pies, but cheddar from the moon washed aptly down with wine from Venus eh! lol
  10. Would like to point out also that this 'Identity' card was another of Thatcher's brainchild. Indeed him 'On yer Bikes' chappie was in charge of it all. Also the £millions Dome fiasco was also a Tory brainchild and was set off via them however it took the labour party to off load, and also to make money. Likewise also the 'London Eye'. That has reeked in a fortune. So much so that it is now to be a permanent Fixture. 'Sure Start' has enable 1000's to be able to work. Income Tax was the lowest ever. We now have Dentists that can see and treat you. Doctors and nurses increased vastly in real terms. More operations than ever in ALL departments than ever before.... Even after the ruinous devastation of the 'Evil Cow'! What was that famous quip regards the peasants not have health / Dental treatment / seeing doctors. 'Your forefathers managed with out then.... '! labour also steadied the rising costs of prescriptions. Fact. Just one operation, besides any of the above was more than enough to have voted Gordon back in. Many with, with out the slightest doubt, rue the day that they voted the Chameleon in! Mark my words!
  11. Well I am glad in as much as my faith in Blaz is more than justified. I never doubted for a moment as my comments / posting told. No good hiding behind the ole adage 'But out in open ... sooner said and sorted' etc. I maintain, and believe that many, too many were having a witch hunt. Sorry if that offends, but Blaz was hung out to dry! Soon he was to be ‘Hung drawn and quartered’. No two ways about that! Some were eager even in the waiting. Some will say now it was his fault and if he had only (Spout Garbage). Some were genuine TODAY only in as much that they got off their *expletive removed* and done something! Blaz has, did, and stated before that the money was sent etc. etc. on more than one occasion. Now those in the witch-hunt party, I don't suppose an apology is forth coming. No won’t be holding my breath. Only thing left to say YET again is ‘Well done Blaz and lewadebob good on yer’!.
  12. Not just the Scots.... Many hate the Tories with a vengence down here.... and with good cause. Indeed anyone with a memory. As for The 'Evil Cow' she quickly changed the Boundries to alter the constituacys. So the strong tory districts took parts of Labour Strong Holds. Should have changed them back pronto, or been even more direct and dicisive. i honestly believe that Gordon was - is then - one of the most honest and couragous politican for a very long while.... If he had the charism, P.R and was Tele Phonic like Blair, he'd walk the floor with the Chameleon. Yes March the 6th was a disastous day for the common workers, no two ways about that. As for the £6 Billion, or the £75 Billion come to that, Brown was rifght, get the boat sailing first! Besides another 2p on fuel would pay that off in a month or less alone. Chameleon, like the rest of the world agreed with Gordon, followed suit and it was vastly a lot more painless that when that evil Thatcher ripped of every saleable, and silverware she could. Ruin the bank balance. Made the wealthy even more wealthy at the Workers costs. Made thousand jobless and homeless every day. Was a time when under the torie it was officially 1 in 7 unemployed. Of course with out juggling them figure it was 1 in 5. AND that recession was no where as near as bad as this recession she caused that Gordon took the blunt off. Facts.
  13. Not so daft is that joshdonlan. Some may recall I offered a bet to him regards Man U and what they would win this season. I stated they'd win nothing; with the possible EXCEPTION of the League Cup which just about any name can be put on that. But did offer him £10 bet that they'd get nowt. Not a sausage, just nearly runs lol. He refused the wager. So he is either very smart or a luke warm supporter lol.
  14. Seems JPH has a knack of seeing things that aren't there! Mind inuendo's are mostly bad. Besides being misleading. Furher, they have a tendacy of giving some a false joy ride via many jumping on a make shift band wagon REAL or Imaginary! So JPH if you actually know something, anything untoward regards that fund, something that is actual fact and not 'Make Believe or maybe's' spout up and let us all know just what that may be... otherwise may I humbly suggest you refrain from making unfair, unknown and uncalled for callous aspertion.

    Eagle Owls

JPH do you know what point you are trying make I doubt it personally. I mean just what are you spouting about regards my post and the facts I've stated? . Yes the Eagle Owl bred in the wilds are classed as natives of this country, and by the goverment governing body that is responcible for the legallity. And YES as SUCH the RSPB etc. have a duty to protect them every bit as much as their money spinning Percy. Yes JPH we ALL know that they will unmercifully slay any and every one of them VIA the RSPB! So what 'Ray of Magical' enlightment are you trying to thrust upon us Seems you are confused and baffled as how tpo deter any one being interested in having a pair of Eagle Owls!.... Thus trying to make a point, an sensless at that! Seems you are a RSPB and B.O.P. Lover.... AS long as it isn't the Eagle Owl as far as I prceive..

    Eagle Owls

JPH Which is wrong? .... The DAFRA Ruling! No that's 100% correct. That the RSPB will murder them ASAP.... rather than be lawful and care, and protect them. Like I said 'SHOULD' protect them as they are legally, and regarded as 'Native Birds'. Doesn't matter a jot if they were her 100 odd years ago or not. ANY born in the wild are classed as 'Natives' to this country. FACT! So that means any without rings tags are and should be deemed as Native to this country.Another fact and WELL I know it! YES the RSPB will murder them, I have no doubt.
  17. The jokes the Tories spouted and the gullible took to heart and believed.... Gordon wasn’t elected lol … nor was the Chameleon but I suppose that is different lol Yep they still even quipped that till Tuesday Night! They want to form a Stable’ government... What with A Hung parliament bolstered up by doing a deal with ‘ANYONE’ LOL No chance. Indeed they will have to dance now to the tune of the Libs or resign. Go to the country again eh! Another joke. Another joke… Lib voters voted to keep the Tories out… so they aren’t happy! But it won’t last long, because both parties will be trying to appease their voters and find middle ground… Which means BOTH parties won’t be delivering the promises that they were voted in for! But as the Evil one spouted with a sick condescending smirk, as if she knew something no one else did… ‘But you know – pause for effect and a smirk … As soon as they fall out, which they will and the Tories vote is defeated in the house … Well the rules then state that that is the end of that parliament and they must go to the country’. Won’t be long neither, because the Chameleon will want to feather certain hoppo’s nests, and believe that if they go to the country they will get the majority they need.

    Eagle Owls

The beauty is that any Eagle Owls bred in the wild, I.e. from escaped parents are definately then class as native birds and should have according to DAFRA - I said Should Have - the full protection of the likes of the RSPB. Making it also illegal to take eggs, kill or main these great couragous birds.
  19. They will make short thrift of Crows / seagulls if and as when they want to. Indeed they are mostly a winter feed. Haven't seen them ever massively high personally, but they may well do of course. Very few birds can hover like the Kestral / Humming birds etc.(Flies backwards) But even pigeons, as all birds I guess, can stay in same spot for a very short while ... often having to adjust. But like Joyce they can't hover really like, but she is often hovering aside me with a beedy eye lol. So I wouldn't know. My pigeons often fly up and above a sparrow hawk. Again obviously allowed too. Like a fox will enter a rabbit waren, burrow, even play with ravbbits and they get along just fine. Yet rabbits know when he is after a feed eh!
  20. Lol. Mind have to cancell holidays, a pint and any nights out etc. as these Tory's won't leave much change and that's for sure. Instead of a video Camera I s'd suppose I'll be better off taking out an health insurance, in case i need a dentist, or eye test.... heavon forbid an op of any kind. Infact am going to bed and try to sleep.... can't stand this new awaking nightmare lol
  21. I wish I could afford one lol. But may get some photo's if they are there again next time I go. Then have to learn how to set that up for uploading them. I know, sednd for Bakes lol.

    Free.

Have a youngster slightly scalped. Was also a hen that did it. She went into the wrong box. Took out the youngsters and placed with another pair over night - one each. Took her out over night. Put youngsters back in their' right box next morning. tI then let the hen back in. She went straight into her proper - own box - and had no more trouble...and she laid an egg that night. So was sure, now surer, she went into the wrong box...
  23. Dovescot., Hover doesn't mean like a Kestral does. Balances on the wind for moments, then either swoops or little circles.

Good of yer Sue. I believe there will be just as much interest when those come up for sale. Indeed have no inkling whatsoever otherwise.
  25. Was indeed a caption where a Magpie was drowned. Indeed held it under till it died! I can't recall to be perfectly honest as I didn't take in too much for I found it a bit off putting to watch. Youtube Hawk / Falcon will bring that up of course. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hawk+drowning+magpie&aq=0 Percy will pluck a duck out of the water. Likewise a Sparrow could easierly pluck any nestling out with their ability, no sweat! Just hadn't seen it before. But having trawl Google, yes lakes and marsh land etc. is a Sparrow Hawks haunt etc. Indeed any where where there is a meal basically.
