Exactly right, the guy likes nice pink skin at approx 6 - 8 days old and any that does not have it he kills them???? I did not mean Black feathered pigeons. Thanks

Has anyone ever heard of dark skinned Ybs being rubbish? I have been told this and would like to assure the fancier that there is no difference. Can anyone shed any light on this "Theory"?

Metrodizional tablets - 1/2 tablet per bird administered on an empty crop. I have seen ybs with throat full of canker and after a 1/2 tablet was crushed and administered 24 hrs later the throat was completly clear. I treat twice a year with these and never had problems. £3.50 per 21 tablets available from your local vet. I have tried many treatments for canker and this had the best results by far.

Not the winner unfortunatley. 8th & 9th. The hen that was 8th has won Dublin BIS twice 900 birds in show. She has won her class in Dublin 5 times. Also runner up in Blackpool twice. Light cheq hen, did not travel that well so was well pleased. Tell your dad he is an excellent judge :)

We have a hen 001 - 5 firsts, and a host of other prizes. Also have 75001.

Be careful its not a mild form of pox - it can be found on the wattles and in the throat and mouth. If the crust can be picked off, dab a bit of iodine on. Pox runs for about 3 weeks but will clear up. During infection the birds will eat, fly etc normally and the droppings will also be good. There is this infection going around.

Personally i think that Sluis has some of the best products on the market. You can get them at Blackpool but i cant remember where??? I get mine through G Delaney Dromore N I

i think 25 - 30 is plenty also. Important thing is not to breed a big team of untried pigeons, you want to see what they are made of so there is no use breeding 50 or 60 as it only gives you work. The smaller the better when starting up. Dont forget, dont overcrowd them.

Thanks for kind the comments. The birds look good now, hope they can hold the condition for 11 more days. Re Kirpatricks, Micks birds usually are 30 - 50 each. worth a chance if you like them.
