The guy is Kevy Doherty and races in Fortfield club in the Ulster Fed. I have spoken to Peter Martin his good friend and offered my support and he said there will be somthing organised in about 1 months time. He is going to start again and this will not stop him. Knowing Peter well i am sure he will be at the fore of the organising and he will let me know when somthing is in place. I have Peters details if anyone requires them. Eamon.
the weather is to break around mid day and we should have enough time and clear skies for a lib. It will be windy though. Alot of birds missing in the NIPA also last week, especially the Derry lads they got a right hammering.
I will be in HQ at the weekend with our result. I will ask the question about comeback races, how many and where from. I will update this on Monday morning. P.S Good Luck tomorrow. SL
Well done, i was 6 sec behind the winner in the first Galway hot spot although finished 33rd like you it has done the business for me. Good luck with the rest of the races. SL
Thanks, getting back to the thread, do you think the NIPA will "Double Up" races to try and make up the lost racepoints? I think they will try some comeback races as they will want the money
Good to know something like that and when i talk to him i will ask him about his past racing experience. I am not saying its not true but if you look at the ring list there are alot of TOP fanciers have birds there, only a thought.
My first year sending so i dont really know anything about them so cannot comment. I do hope they get a good race though and the birds get a fair chance. Think of the pigeon house you could buy with 50k
Sunday does look better. The Fed are marking tonight also so they must think it is possible.
Hope Sunday is good as it says as i have 2 birds in Galway
They are probably jumping races as they know Talbenny is only 3 weeks away and they need the birds to get a bit of distance. Only my opinion. SL
Just checked the forcast and a lib looks possible tomorrow pm although very windy.
Thanks for all the help guys, i have sent a few PMs so i live in hope of getting a pair from somewhere. A few of the contacts are now gone but i still have a couple of leads. Thanks again. SL
32/34 although birds were very well broken up as some local clubs had over 100 yds between 1st and 2nd pigeons. Generally most are 1 - 2 still out. Alot of birds coming back out of the North after 3.30pm so there must have been alot of birds shot over.
Personally i would split as i would not expect Ybs to do both, maybe old birds would be ok. What happens if you get a bad one on Wed - Saturdays race is over before it starts. As another post says - Im sure you will make the right decision. Good Luck. SL
Mick, you keep doing what you do, no harm in it. By the way pm me your lads address again, i have some old rings for him, NU 72, 75, 89, and also some Polish rings with ring cards. SL
