  1. Excellent flying and a pleasure to read the thread, well done.
  2. Just toss it away from your loft if it is in decent condition and don't worry about it.
  3. Welcome to the greatest sport on earth, ENJOY!!!
  4. The hen who lost her mate, the one i wanted peoples opinions on. She was third to the loft, clocked just after tea (found in loft) Saturday. Four birds were entered.
  5. She was timed just after tea on saturday Third to loft from four.
  6. Well, She's not in yet but are number one choice is 743 mile on the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beaten by a scouser for (provisional) 1st Section. Can you believe it eh Vic!!!!!!
  7. Vic, no need to be sorry. I respect your input on this forum emmensely,as i know you are a genuine bloke.
  8. When her mate went missing (Tuesday) i put her on pot egg's. She was due to hatch tomorrow. We have decided to give her a chuck tomorrow night and come home to a youngster that hatched tonight. The race is from Tarbes 750m +/-, she is three years of age and unfortunately due to the restrictions imposed on us she has not had chance to race from 500 miles as a two year old which we would of preferred. So the question maybe in vain as to send them that far it is hard/foolish to be too confident. As it stands at the mo she is my second choice of four. Thank you for your input Alf, pigeon man and Vic i respect your opinions and replies gratefully.
  9. It was actually lost of the loft! I had planned on sending the pair, but that's life eh.
  10. Hi, If you had a hen that you had been getting ready for the longest race of the season. You planned to send her on her first baby of the year and her cock got lost but she kept sitting. Would you let her hatch out or keep her on eggs? I'm wondering if she hatches she may have to much stress put on her. What's your opinion? Thank you.
  11. Well done Ronnie, keep sending it's the only way to improve.
  12. His son still has the birds and sells youngsters.
  13. Yes the ANTICIPATION the BUILD UP and then the WAIT
  14. It does not ham y/b's in the nest ( in my experience) with parents being treated via water with Equvalan. So i would of thought any age would be okay. The best time to do them would be when you know for CERTAIN they have worms. Can i ask at what dosage You would use it as i have seen different strengths discussed on here in the past.

  18. Yes it is some channel programme that one, not for the faint hearted ones. It's a shame it doesn't get the publicity it deserves i can't remember the last time i saw even a result in the Mag's. I'd enjoy studying them six results on a winter evening, if anyone can supply them after racing i would be grateful.
  19. Is the NW Combine still on the 6 Back to back channel races?
  20. Hi, is any member of the forum using Benzing ETS. I have looked into the other makes and i am am now interested in finding out about benzing. The following is what i will require of an ETS system. The system to clock birds when i am at the club having clock read. The system to allow me to have two clocks so if i am flying in two clubs that strike at the same time i can have one at each. Also i will require the system to be able to send me a txt message to my mobile phone stating the birds arrival time and it's full ring number. I would be grateful if any member using Benzing knows if the above is possible. Thank you.
  21. I think that says it all really, that's why so many of them are always moving on to new strains because the birds they have end up goosed and sold on to the unsuspecting genuine flyer's. I could never imagine getting rid of all my birds to bring a total new team in, yes adding the occasional bird to the race team and stocking it after a successful racing campaign is more my idea of building your own stock.
  22. I have been talking to a bloke recently, who was telling me how a guy he knows gives injectable baytril mixed with vitamins on the morning of basketing day. Apparently his birds look distressed when in the basket but come the race he is nearly always at the front. Madness eh!
  23. Yes thanks silverdale it is okay as i don't use it, i was just pointing blyth1 in the direction of a supplier. Thanks again.
