  1. Had an EpsonD88 The have a limited life you are lucky to get 2 years out of them and they cost a fortune in ink, roughly have to re- supply ink after every race.A Brother laser printer is the answer.

  5. Training is obviously important for individual fanciers and we have a transporter going on the road on 1st. April we have got to be sure that our convoyer/driver can buy diesel both in Dumfries and in England near the racepoint to get home so I hope this is sorted out soon.

  9. Hi, I need bob wires, a new scraper and plastic eggs before the season starts. There has been a lot of criticism of Boddy & Ridewood on this site recently.I wonder who is best to buy from remembering the danger of credit card details on the internet.Any advice much appreciated.
  10. Killie did not read thge script
  11. As has already been staed on this site the Solway will have every loft in the federation re-measured using GPS this winter in time for the 2013 season.I know nothing is perfect but its got to be better than sticking pins in maps. The time will surely come when the racepoints are similarly measured.Surely it is painfully obvious that the only way for the pigeon fancy to survive is to take advantage of every technological advance.
  12. No you are not wrong but no such permit has ever been issued to my knowledge
  13. There was an item on the BBC news last night (Wednesday) on the fall in the numbers of poisoned raptors where several eminent Scots all congratulated each other on the new awareness of this so called crime that is being displayed. The fact that this item was deemed worthy of a news slot and the general approval of the success of the RSPB`s campaign on behalf of raptors and their statement that they are determined to introduce raptors into areas where there are few at present is further proof if any is required of the power and public approval of the raptor lobby.I understand the RPRA are about to launch a campaign on behalf of the Pigeon Fancy and I wish them every success but experience in Scotland against officialdom does not fill me with optimism.I am sorry if this post appears negative but there it is.
  14. Thank you for that I am quite sure matters will become clearer as the year goes on and probably mistakes might be made but they can be learned from and not made twice
  15. The SHU got a great deal with Lanark and it should be supported by the whole pigeon fancy in Scotland. Many people are working hard to make this a success and criticism of the venue at this stage while perfectly legitimate is I regret to say less than helpful.
  16. Irvine `s no a bit for a nice well brought up Fechan callant
  17. Stallholders free first year to attract interest, they pay in subsequent years if all goes well but its gotta be supported by the fanciers........................might depend on who is to be a judge???.........any volunteers
  18. The SHU will sponsor a big pigeon show at the premises of Lanark Market on December 8th this year if the show is a success it is hoped it will take place on an annual basis.
  19. I apologise for getting the officers name wrong should be David Rathband
  20. PC David Rathman did not commit suicide he was murdered by Raoul Moat may PC Rathman rest in peace
  21. There is an interesting article in the Scotland on Sunday newspaper today about one Dave Dick from Moffat, I do not know this guy who has quit his job as the RSPB`s head invesigator after 25 years claiming that he gets no support from landowners and the police in his efforts to save raptors. He says that investigations and prosecutions are being frustrated because the police are too close to gamekeepers.Well this is news to me and there is certainly no shortage of peregrine falcons and sparrow hawks around Moffat. He goes on to say that the new law regarding vicarious responsibility has not yet been tested in the Scottish Courts.
