Last year was my 1st season and just to get a feel for things i started with 16 and i ended the season with no prize winners but a respectful 11 birds.So as a starter i would advice anybody to start small and put all your effort in a few birds and next year you can build on that. Just my thoughts.

In the west country we have speedy hire,they hire out fencing panels and very often they sell the old stock to make space for new.I bought some last year for £5 a panel.

Try building sites,They normally erect ply for temporary walls and chuck it after use.

Hallo every one, I got 2 late bred Jan Arden's(a nest pair).Both turned out to be cocks.I have of my own colbert bosschaerts and Roland janssens,both strains done well to my loft unfortunately none scored.Which strain would be best to cross the Jan Arden's to? Thanks.

Bowls in from day one,day 2 nest felts and from day 3 i put a few pine needels in the bowl and on the floor so they can start building....

Hi there everyone, I need advice please,i paired my widowhood cocks up today.All the cocks are yearlings and its there 1st nest.All went well except for 1 white cock that pluck all the eye browse of his hen,i tried a second hen and the same thing happened.I gave him a few slaps waited 1 hour and reintroduced the 1st hen,by god he was on her like a rocket fighting.Wat can i do?They had a division between them so that they can get use to each other but he is to stubborn.Any idees ??????? I have been using layers pellets for about six years,on its own you might find the droppings is a bit loose,i mix mine with barley for the hens and peas for young birds.You will find that because the pellets contain so much vitamins and minerals the birds will have less minerals and more grit.The other thing is ,the pellets contain a certain % of moisture so i does pass Through the bird quicker and weightwise you might end up feeding a bit more.In my area its about £6.25 per 20kgs.I might chance to growers pellets or turkey pellets this year.Hope this helps......

god I'm to scared to post my reply.............i feel for young birds and sprint racing the ets is a brilliant system.Long distance is a different story and the t3/stb is fine.I must admit,I'm happy with my t3,i love my birds and cant wait to see them returning after a race,i go in the loft catch the bird give him a kiss on the head welcome him/her home and then remove the rubber.I'm young and there is still plenty of time for glory!Technology is moving forward and one day I'm gone have to invest in a ETS.....please don't bite my head of :'( :'( :'(
