Unfortunatly just like any thing in life,if there is money to be made then some one will make it.If you go into the sport to make money and to earn a living then you cant go round giving stuff away for free.....The reason why i joined the fantastic sport is because of peopel like Bob and many more friends in UK and South Africa,whom is out not to benifit their pockets but to promote the sport thru being true, kind and always willing to help,not always thru giving free birds and items but true advice that is so hard to come by for any novice..And i want to add,there is alot of peopel like that on this site with out naming names that is more than happy to help. Last year i shut them up together for a day and one by one opend the boxes up and all was fine,i just wonderd if "showing" the hen first would be better.

Hi guys!!!! Could i ask a bit of advice, When pairing up stock birds that hasent been together,is there any need to shut the hen in one half of the box for a while so the 2 can get use to each other first or pop them together and shut them up?I was just wondering if the 1st method would relieve a bit off stress on the hen? andrecrock

I read an article "pigeon comunity" and there was a servey done by so call'd "do gooders" about fanciers blaming hawk's for all our bird losses.The survey turned out only 14% of pigeons gets killed by hawks!!!!! I would like to meet this chap that done the servey,nobody interviewd me or any members of my club,so when and were was this servey done?????? andrecrock

As a boy i can remember my father painting his birmingham rollers under side (wing,body,everything) with waterd down cake colouring dye (to make them look nice when rolling) and he had less hawk attacks,than in the off season. andrecrock

My situasion has changed a bit since i posted the first thread... I have got a few opptions,am flying 8 widowood cocks aswell. out of the 4 pairs i have 2cocks and 2hens well bred (un rung) birds,which will be paired to birds that i wont to race which is my own.the problem is the pairings works out to be un rung x rung.. Im hoping to go a bit distance with 2 hens.Which is my 5th race from st malo. very confusing,i know.... andrecrock
