  13. cheers kev and old yellow! im already plotting next saturdays victory!!
  14. also try and get them in your baske at least once a week for a couple of hours or so, then they get used to the basket and wont get stressed as much, when they are a bit older i feed them there morning feed after being out, and dont give them any water, then basket them up, and they now learn to drink from the basket, very valuable lesson to learn, i was shocked at the amount of people over the years who say they dont do that!! or thats what they told me ;-)
  15. hi chris bonnie, welcome to pb, hope you enjoy it on here, well firstly you will be very suprised at how far they can fly at 5 weeks old! so try not to leave them to long, are you getting your next lot of pigeons from the same fancier? try and avoid getting ybs from various different sources if you can, the feed you are feeding them is fine, as they need a good diet as they are still growing, but what you must have with ybs is control, so i would make sure they are that bit hungrier than normal when you let them out, as they are less likely to fly off, and from the star you will have control of them when you shake the corn tin, whistle etc, ybs never forget and you will get them that bit tamer, you dont want wild birds or bird that are to tame in my opinion, even though most of mine are as wild as hell!! lol anyway good luck and you will always get the best advise and top people on this fantastic website, its helped me loads over last 4 years, speak soon,
  16. sorry to hear of your problem, i also suffered from mice problems nearly 3 years ago, and i did have paratyphoid, not sure 100% where the infection came from. found out through blood tests, my only real option was to cull as birds may not show syptoms but will always be carriers! was gutted as i had only just started up! i honestly dont think the birds will be any good even if you you do treat, but please please get rid of the mice and consult a good avian vet, my local vet admitted he did nt know anything about pigeons! good luck. and things always work out for the best in the end ;-)
  17. you bin sittin in the town centre catching them? lol :-)
  18. well done to everyone, and sounds like most peolle had good returns, i got 23 from 28, so bit dissapointed on that front, but i was 1st and 2nd club, my first ever old bird, sprint race win!! well happy was 2nd last week, so maybe just maybe im getting it right at last! 195 club birds went. :-)
  19. utter scumbags! someone local must know something? people who do these things arnt the sharpest tools in the shed! and they will surely let something slip somehow, hope they do, and hope they get caught! there is no place for this small minority of *expletive removed* in our sport!
