I don't disagree with anything you've said. There was an interesting article in this week's BHW, on sparrowhawks & pergerines, and although I don't agree with everything in that article, especially the figures on losses, a couple of bits on self-help did make sense. And these were changing what we did during their breeding seasons; basically no breeding YBs before March / April (avoid s/hawk) and no racing before end of May (avoid peregrine). Although the article was written by conservation groups they were very candid in their advice if followed would mean we would stop feeding these things, so there would be fewer of them around. this would only work for a while because like everything in nature the hawks would evolve and change their breeding habits to suit their needs

strange they look almost bald, i have one in the nest that was almost bald and i think that its gonna be a silver the parents are both red cheqs

i have had alot of problems but only in one of my section, typically the section with the new stock in which i have put down to the birds not settling in properly, the other section at the other end of the loft i have had 4 clear eggs all from the same pair but the hen is old.

rspb royal society for the protection of birds, well the last time i chjecked pigeons were birds so do they not have an obligation to protect our pigeons or is it RSPB royal society of pigeon bashers

where i get my corn versa laga best all round is 9.75 a bag, i use pjf best all round and thats 9.25 a25kg bag
