Yes thats right they are recorded on the race entry form along with the numbers on the race rubbers,or if the case may be on the ETS form.

Not sure how it would cost any less because the bird still as to be rung or be carrying a ETS ring,plus if you used this method in club racing the bird would be covered in marks by the end of the season,its sometimes confusing when they have about 3 marks trying to remember which is the new one.

Yes your right Davey,when the birds are marked they stamp one orf the flights with a letter or number then when you verify your birds clocking in time you also quote the mark on the birds wing.

When people talk of rare pigeon rings what do they call rare,from a certain country,or perhaps a certain year,just wondering as I have two alluminium rings,SG.54.2 and SG.54.5,and i,m pretty certain that they are the only two like that in the world, would that make them rare to a collector.

Have had simular things happen such as hens getting scalped when pairing up or youngsters getting into the wrong nestbox but personally i have just left them and they seem to be o.k. after a while.Dont know wether you could put some sort of antiseptic cream or such like on it perhaps someone else could advise you on that.

It runs in 5 year cycles,03 green,04 blue,05 pink,06 yellow,07 white,so 08 will be green,09 blue etc etc,mind they could decide to have a change of colour somewhere along the line as they did in 2000 when the rings were purple but didn,t use that colour again

If its RPRA rings your talking about they will be despatched from the Reddings on 2nd jan and if I remember right they will be green.

Think there is a Didi Davies that flys a very good pigeon down in the valleys but not sure exactly where.

There is a J.Wilcox that as flown from around the Bristol area for as long as I can remember dont know if she originated from Surrey.
