Not saying for a second I'd take there money flying in any position. And the reason I probably aint in it right now attempting is mainly because of my position up here. How ever am more concerned for Midlothian Fed and only asked if I was a new starter what would draw me in to it. Well I know of 8 fanciers I spoke to that have said they would do a 2 bird pools each week. I dont think having it proposed between delegates is the answer as feed back dont come back to the members sometimes. How ever my 8 plus the 8 easthouses and 4 Newtongrange that was said earlier gives 20 members. All pay 10pound to join and go for it I say. Just set it up and let who ever wants to fly in it fly. I would think as the weeks pass more would join. I am even more confident that under 150miles I'd be just giving donations each week but I am stupid and I like the thought of maybe just maybe winning some money! I managed to get the pools Newark open with 5 birds sent. So thats all I need a year to please me. Just the chance of winning Peter -

That the selling point? Why not propose birdage is 50p for all races up to the Nationals? Would the extra 15p per pigeon for the races under 200mile races pay the ferrying? -

Well can start with having the LB sale at a better date. Who is looking to buy LB's so late in Sept?? Why not run a show and encourage the Midlothian Fed Members by having specific classes for the Midlothian Guys! We ran one in 2010 for the club and made over 300pound. Not a massive amount but all money in bank and a day out for fed members. Even kill 2 birds with 1 stone and combine it with the presentation of Fed trophies to further more encourage fanciers out! I am not saying having a 2 Bird will give the fed any income. It would encourage fanciers and give them something to fly for. I will ask a simple question Peter and without any politics involved! If I was a new member in this area taking up pigeons what would be your selling point of making me come to the Midlothian Fed? When I have another Fed there with a pull towards big money being flown for? Now its a simple question! I am also not in any way saying I dont wanna fly in Midlothian. I am happy with the fed but there becomes a point when you look at the finances of the year and think "Hold on a min" -

Think an important thing that needs done along with this idea is a 2 bird. I know it was proposed but I think it should just be took on and if only 10 members that's fine! Don't need every single fed flier to opt in. Midlothian fed is sadly expensive to fly in with none of this type thing going on to give us good pool\prize money to fly for! Really think we should be as if you can't win your money to pay for birds that's reason fed and pigeon fanciers are declining -
Just to absorb the atmosphere and enjoy it.... Also have a good hangover cure sussed out for the sunday

I spoke about having a 2 bird club and the whole of rosewell was interested. Also a few members from polton and bonnyrig said yes to me. I think there was a miss understanding about the 2 bird thing as we never got any actual info! I think a 2 bird would be well supported -

Is rock salt the grit for roads?? As I heard if put in bath its brilliant for killing any feather mite or lice
-
Heard Fife was sat 1st december

Salt works a treat.... I go out at night and sprinkle about my path and in my corridor. Kills them imstant. I have tried the lot by covering vents and things but still get in. Salt is best answer

So sad to hear the news about Maisie Winter. Such a sad year for the Winter family when Marshal Winter died in Feb and now his mother. Heart goes out again to William, Chris and Carrie She was a member for many years in Rosewell pigeon Club RIP
