  1. I have sent you a PM.
  2. Nah, they just pass the buck, as usual!
  3. Another lucky stray finding kindness. Thanks you for caring and taking her in, I do hope that she stays with you. As for wintering, pigeons can withstand the cold but need to be dry and out of drafts. I'm not sure what is in cockatiel mix but she will pick out what she likes and recognises until you get a pigeon mix. You could add dried peas in addition to the barley and lentils.
  4. Thanks guys.
  5. Found by non fancier in Greater Manchester area.
  6. The photos are great, junior is a credit to you. Sounds like dad is well and truly stayed, David. If junior is a hen he may well start making advances on her soon. : (I'll bet someone on here can tell the gender from the photos now).
  7. I didn't know that! I thought that I was protecting myself and the buyer by using PalPal when I was selling my birds. :
  8. NE Lancs overcast, high cloud. Light westerly wind, good visability.
  9. Not surprised you gave up if after 30 years you haven't even learnt how to report a bird!! :
  10. ;D ;D I thought this was a non fancier reporting the bird but now I see he's not......windup?? :-/
  11. Congrats Boomerang :)
  12. If you give the full number then we can identify which club the pigeon comes from and let you have the secretary's telephone number. You can check that it is the rightful owner claiming the bird by asking them to describe it - colouring etc.

    WHITE RACERS

I've stopped breeding for this year. My birds have raised three rounds and I think that they've done enough for this year. They are moulting now and having a good rest. I'll be pairing up early next year, if you're still not sorted.
  17. Welcome. It's good to see another female...we rather outnumbered! I too, started with two birds. Beware, they are addictive, before you know it you'll have ???? Sue
  18. Good one. Hope you're not going to trust Amtrak with it??
  19. Homebase selling 6x4 shed £36 delivered. Might make a starter loft?? https://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=1720619&Trail=searchtex t%3ESHED
  20. Fantastic David....... phew!! I would never show the birds the way out through the door - they will soon learn it means freedom and fly out over your head. Only let them in and out via the sputnik, it will give you more control over them. Junior will get more and more adventurous as he explores his surroundings, don't panic when he takes off and disappears for half an hour or so. Sue
  21. http://www.racingbirds.com/ptrap.html Thanks you for caring, good luck.
  22. I was told to spit in it! :-/
  23. OK Phil, I'll bow to your greater knowledge. I thought that an old bird would pull a YB too far away from the loft? I know that everyone has different ways of training YBs. Personally, I have them into, and then out of, the sputnik before they are flying.
  24. You'd let the YB out with the cock who is not necessarily homed? :-/ :-/
  25. David, I know just how you are feeling - that's why I can't race my birds!! My mentor says 'If you don't want to loose them, don't let them out of the loft!' Even that is easier said than done - I lost my first Logans - really fantastic, show quality racers - by accidentally leaving open the sputnik when I was working on it! : Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
