Oh heck David.
I had a couple of birds that started to escape. I solved it by placing a piece of wood about 1" deep by 1/4" by 4' lengthways along the bottom of the popholes. I don't know how it worked, but it did!
Have a great Christmas.

Fantastic news that she is in remission. I am hoping and praying that it lasts and lasts and lasts.....
Hope that whole family have a wonderful Christmas.

Tobacco stalks. Barley straw - floor sweepings - they are short lengths so don't get tangled around the hens legs, causing them to pull the eggs off the nest.
My birds choose Silver Birch twigs which they carry back into the loft from the garden.
I did leave mine out all day for a couple of years with no trouble from the hawks.... a cat discovered the sputnik so that was the end of open loft for my whites.
Don't be in a rush...(says she who couldn't wait for her first round ;D)... They are going to take a while to get used to the move and the new loft so the chances are, even if you were to pair them straight away, they won't lay.
Weigh out 5 grams of whatever it is you need the spoon for, then pour that into containers (such as bottle tops) till you find one that it all just fits into. This is then your 5g measure. ...Hope this makes sense, I understand what I mean! : ;D
Sorry, I don't have the loft now; I needed a larger one. ;D
I kept 12 young Logans in it but, I needed more space when it came to breeding. I sold it on eBay - at a profit! :
Do you have any other birds than the ones you just got in? If so, let them out.
Personally, I'd keep the ones that stayed out, in for a couple of weeks.
