not the best way to help someone starting in to racing telling them any old thing can win sprint races. WRONG to win any decent sprint race or any sprint race 1 your bird needs to be fast and fit.2 your bird needs to have total confidence with no fears when trapping when it gets home.3 you have to make sure you have taken the time to ensure you have done the best to your own ability to encourage your bird to put in that wee bit extra to get home in front of the rest. as for being told to get extream distance birds . i would not advise that to start with as most extreme distance birds take longer to mature. if i was starting up and looking to buy birds for pure sprinting i would proberly go for ROLAND JANCENS sprint very well from about 60mile 200mile OMO for birds that will do sprint up to 200mile and still be going up to middle distance 400 mile i would go for VANLOONS AND STAFF VAN REETS ALSO BUSSHARTES the later does well out to 500 plus OMO for distance birds over 400 mile i would go for JAN AARDENS AND FLOROZONES. OMO

think you are spot on when you mention about birds racing back to you.was told the same from a friend eggy he races distance birds does well with them winning the Jo Murphy challange this year.so getting birds happy and content with their surroundings and their owner pays dividends. put alot of my winning down to this aswell

nice 1 jo and mick die and go to heaven god says to jo how faithful have you been to your wife. jo said i have only cheated twice god looks in his big book a says to jo yes i see just the twice .he the gives jo a mini cooper to drive about heaven. god then asks mick the same question mick says only the twice god again picks up the big book .then turns to mick and says no thats wrong you have cheated on your wife 4 times.then gives him a lada to drive a round heaven a few days later jo pulls up in his mini cooper .he sees mick with arms on roof of lada crying his eyes out jo says no need to cry jo the lada is not that bad mick says it is not that i just past my wife.she was on a f*****8 skateboard

most of my birds old and young are very tame but not all .their is always a small few that don,t want to know and stay a bit nervous regardless of treats.you are on the right track as you have said some of them trust you enough to land on you.keep it up you will get their in the end.you will proberly find the same as me you can get about 90% tame.i have had 1 or 2 very flighty and nervous win races 1 in particular winning yb open newark a few years back.have knowen fanciers to take nervious flighty birds out their team i myself would not . best of luck and keep doing what you are doing.

all birds are out flying most days unless weather is severe. some will start training in 2 weeks for xmus race . race flown saturday before xmus.

in my opinion in the fed i am in midlothian 18 main trophy,s up for the winning .who ever wins the most to me it the top flyer that year.

i have been asked a couple of times to go to new sites and have looked at them but this site i think is the best so i will stick with it. hear is a wee example of the way members on hear react i was not long a member of pigeon bacics and just starting back up racing.after buying stock birds i managed to let them all escape. gave the members on hear running commentary how that day unfolded. in a mater of hours of my loss i had offers of stock birds from members in scotland England wales and Ireland. not a bad way to welcome a relatively newbie. only a small example of what members do for each other .

well done on a good achievement in 2010 hope you do better in 2011 BEST OF LUCK
