  7. that is good and not a bad leson for yb,s .looking at my yb book from 2010 . out the 4 yb,s that came next day from a race 2 won the next again week and 1 was 2nd.
  8. well done hope your 3 do well in final
  9. pair picked but still in eggs
  10. it is very clear that this subject has be debated by mature adults of of the pigeon racing fraternity.with the use and pronunciation of some extraordinary wording to get their point of view across.
  11. any long handled scrapper would do .just grind the 2 corners oval with grinder.that will stop it ripping in to floor .coxedean has a decent one about 12.50 i think
  12. it is only a tenner to join one of the early s.n.f.c. races i tried it loved it and joined the s.n.f.c . would i have joined the s.n.f.c if i did not get the chance to compete against them for a tenner i doubt it.i myself would recommend any member of any fed going with national birds to pay the extra tenner . if any of your birds are good enough they give you your tenner back.to manage to beat top national fanciers in my book 1st time PRICELESS (maybe a fluke). to get your name on s.n.f.c. result sheet from 1st race over the water for extra tenner PRICELESS.to sit and wait on your birds from club fed racing is a good felling .to wait on birds from a national race knowing you are racing against the top fanciers in scotland not just your fed to me is brilliant. Danny might be right in saying their could be 7 or 8 birds in from lanarkshire fed before the 1st secsion winner. (as lanarkshire fed is a very strong fed with more than its fair share of good fanciers) if i was amongst the 7 or 8 i would be gutted i did not pay the tenner. we all race our birds to win at club and fed level for that extra tenner you can race at the top level in Scottish racing the S.N.F.C.
  13. hear is a question if say the 1st secsion winner at a national was 8th lanarkshire fed. asking the members that where 1st to 7th fed in hind sight would you have paid the tenner to double thru .what do you think they would say.
  14. quoted the best post on hear i started back in 09 sent birds to fed only race with national newbury.got 2 in fed worked out would have got 2 national tickets. told a mate (eggy)told me i could enter the next national for a tenner. i did got 3 nat tickets and was totally over the moon .now totally hooked on nat racing still alot to learn . so any member going to national race with fed it is well worth a tenner to compete in a SCOTTISH NATIONAL FLYING CLUB RACE YOU NEVER KNOW TILL YOU TRY

    Young Birds

at the end of old bird season i look at how birds have raced .if birds have raced badly . 1st i look at myself for feeding management ect.then i look at how bird was bred .i also look at how bird raced as yb.if i don,t find good enough reson i then get rid of that bird or birds. taking note of how it was bred.i don,t find very many as when the 1st race starts i don,t let them miss any club races after it.that finds most of them out.if i did not have the space and thought the yb,s was good then it would be offered to other fanciers that have had a bad season with losses .i also bred latebreds in case i need them if i don,t i always know someone or hear of someone that has had a bad season.

  20. 5 to 7 days i have rung yb,s a good bit later .having to put baby oil on leg and ring. i am more on the ball for ringing yb,s now.as an old fancier said how many yb,s that you have had to force the ring on are still with you at end of the yb season and what have they flow like.he said through past experience that yb,s he had to force rings on to went down or did not amount to much. fact or fiction i took his word for it .
