i know that the pole has caused a lot of fuss,but i would just like to say this.when i first came on this site,i had loads of messages welcoming me, since then i have asked advice,for help on numerous occasions and there has been no shortage of of either.i would like you all to know that your all valuable members to me,no matter what the outcome of the pole.

just tried bathing in the loft,wasn,t to bad but got my feet all mucky walking back to the house,bit chilly to with a towel wrapped me.so no dont do it. ;D ;D ;D

thanks to everyone who pm,d me and for all the offers.i have now sorted my problem.

breed is unimportant though i have been building a family of jansenns.

im definately 2 hens short,originally started with 5 pairs or so i thought,but as a third of them were this years youngsters it was hard for me and the fanciers i purchased them off to definately identify what was what(if you know what i mean).now the birds have matured 3 of them have turned out to be cocks.so now i have 3 hens and 7 cocks.so really i could do with another 4 hens but i will be happy with 3 or even 2 at a push.

i can remember glyn when he was a member of risca hs many years ago,is a shame he is not well,he is a true fancier.

i need 2 spare hens that anyone may have,2 of my hens have turned out to be cocks so now i,m 2 short.i am willing to purchase them.i live in the newport area of south wales , i will pick up.cash on collection.can anyone help.paul

i admit i am a little to sloppy when it comes to hawks,i was of the opinion "it wont happen to me"but now i have heeded the warning and i am on the lookout.as for the birds,they do not appear to have been upset by the incident they went out today and came back in as they always do,ive also got a new weapon in my arsenal,a sling just got to improve my aim and stop hitting the neighbours windows. ;D ;D ;D

he was very small,possibly a sparrow hawk but i believe he was injured by the cat who jumped right on him.there was some of his tail feathers left on the garden.

i wish i did,but to be honest i was so amazed by the scene that i didnt know which way to turn first. ;D ;D

nice looking birds as usual paul.i really like no 1,7,8.im really tempted.

today while a few of my birds were coming back from their daily exercise,a hawk decided to attack,downing one of the birds a dark cheq cock.they both crash landed on the garden and i thought thats the end of him,quick as a flash my dog who is a 11 year old mongrel dived into the melee and the hawk stopped its attack and tried to turn tail straight into the loving arms of my cat who was also there.it all happened so quickly i still cant beleive it.the hawk got away but i dont think he will be back,the d cheq cock is alive and nursing a torn leg but apart from that he seems fine,ive got him in the house in a basket tonight to keep an eye on him.the dog and the cat both received a gold star for excellent team work.

i have now picked up nest boxes and do not require anymore.thanks chris for your suggestion and many thanks to phil(pjc)for putting me in touch.i really appreaciate all the help.
