hi.does anyone have a copy of loft manager or equivalent for the pc.i have tried the trial version and it seemed quite interesting,but it only leasted for 13 days and then all the data was gone.paul

its our turn again tonight apparently,its coming down thick in newport and its settling again to.

just started snowing again.here in south wales,its coming down very thick.

i do have a hen who is sitting 1 egg only it was probably her who laid in there.she is in a box directly below.i had assumed that the egg had been carried out somehow while exercising.call me a dillan if you like.

another question.i have a hen who has laid three eggs is this common?and will she be able to cope with three youngsters assuming they all hatch of course.

a few are picking up and just playing with the corn at the moment,as soon as their feeding properly i can then introduce them to their brand new yb loft,with no problems hopefully.all this is a learning experience for me also.it,s nice to have someone to ask about these things.thanks

i am about to attempt weaning my first round of youngsters,they are 29 days old,i have been introducing them to the drinker over the last few days which has been succesful, and all of them are still being fed by their parents,a few of my hens have started laying their second round and i felt that now would be a good time to start.is it best to let the youngsters discover the feeding troughs themselves or should i introduce them to corn myself.i have a young bird mixture to feed them with.

ive got the same type of floor in my loft and after it had down for a few weeks it started to darken,i think that is what makes it look damp.your loft and floor look very clean i can tell you look after your birds very well.just as a matter of interest what have you put on the walls is it some kind of insulation to keep out the cold.

thanks for the info will just keep an eye out and see what happens,but i would say that he will be out by the morning,because he has gone right round the egg and seems to be pushing at the broken end,just me being impatient.

can anyone tell me how long it normally takes a youngster to chip its way out if an egg.so far he has been chipping for 2 days.is this a normal time frame or do you think i should intervene and help him along a bit.all my other youngsters have taken about a day and a half to release themselves.

similar thing happened to one of my cocks when i paired up,but now 3 weeks on he is back to his old self and chasing his girlie.let us know how he gets on.paul

i do have a cat of my own,but she does not stop the other cats coming in the garden.

what make is it,there are a few different ones on the market,if it works ill try it.

can anyone tell me about a product called catwatch.it is an ultrasonic deterrent for cats mice etc.im thinking of getting one and i would like to know if they actually work.thanks paul

im building a family of jansenns,some i have purchased and some have been given to me by generous fanciers.i also have 2 pairs of a very old strain called perrins,i will see how they go this year and build on it next year.

hi.i will be starting off this year with yb season,its great to start from afresh and build a team up from scratch.what a challenge it is going to be getting up there with everyone else.but for me a win would be a bonus with it being my first season,i,ll be happy if they all come back home.i will pm from time to time to see how your getting on and theres load of help and support here if you need it.father paul.
