bird was released this afternoon as per instruction of owner,he struck off up the valley hope he makes it home.

the oldest in my loft is 10 years,rung in 1999 and he is a kirkpatrick.

another racer down on his luck GB08R11585.came in with my birds this afternoon.can anyone help.

mine used to do this,i cured the problem by giving them a light feed as soon as they came in after exercising.if they did not come in straight away they didnt get any,they soon got the message and now i no longer have the problem.

this bird was over in france 2 weeks ago,he has made it back to this country and just needs a little help to reach his home,his owner is an elderly gentleman who has limited resources but would like the bird back.the bird is from the hull area and is in south wales at the moment.can anyone help with getting this bird a little closer to his home.his owner and myself would really appreciate it.thanks paul.

update to previous thread.these birds are missing from my loft. WHU2009N00736 red cheq cock.(training) WHU2009N00735mealy pied hen.(training) WHU2009N00739blue cock.(lost off loft) WHU2009N00744blue cock.(lost off loft) WHU2009N00745red cheq hen.(lost off loft) these birds are now very overdue.the 2 blues 739,745 are quite distinctive as they have 3 bars instead of the normal 2.and the ,mealy pied hen is all white with a brown saddle on her back.a small reward is offered for the return of any of these birds and i promise i will pick birds up from wherever they may be.your help is appreciated.paul.

a blue cheq pied hen gb07z80219.contact has been made with the owner,but he has no way of retrieving the bird.is there anyone who has buisness in the hull area who may be able to pick the bird up and release him closer to home.the bird is with me in newport at the moment.many thanks paul.

just had word from a non fancier about the fate of whu2009n00736 red cheq cock.he was found what was left of him in the old quarry at risca which is really annoying as he was only 2 miles away.taken by a bop and devoured there.sad.

timber these days can be quite expensive,£60 will not get you very far i,m afraid.i know this because i built my own loft and when i totalled up what i had spent i had a big shock.the offer of a 7x5 shed off gooner is very generous,maybe you should concider it because that £60 could go towards a nice breeding pair to kick you off.i can also breed you a couple of late breds if you like.have a think about it and let me know.paul.

it is a 2 person job,some times a small oily mark can appear on the birds feathers at the point of injection but this usually disappears in a few days.a small amount can seap out when you withdraw the needle this is what makes the oily mark.paul

their going great now but unfortunately they took off 5 of my younger ones when i made the mistake of letting them all out together last week.

as soon as they begin the ranging thing then short training can be given.ie the local park,and gradually increased.mine were 12 weeks when i started them.

most of the ones i know are much to rude

their really hard to catch here in wales.

i think it would be worth the money just to see what kind of hazards they encounter on their way home.i,m sure you would make your money back by selling the dvds of the trip on here.just a thought.

when i bought mine it was only available in 200 dose bottles but i beleive that problem has passed now.look in the bhw or there are a few pet supplies sites on the net that are quite reasonable.hope this helps.paul

there are still birds working now,me and my missess have been sat in the garden watching them all afternoon.single birds and groups of 3 or 4 going over all the time.

thats a true statement,once they come out of the safety of the transporter its then that they are at the mercy of all the hazards that are up there.bops,weather,wires,shooters,clashing.its amazing that any get through at all.we witnessed a bunch of trainers hit some wires while we were out walking up over twmbarlum.2 birds came down in a field but the farmer who was there with his dogs would not allow us to recover the birds.he said quote"he could not guarantee our safety from his bulls"it was a thick electricity cable and they really rattled it,god knows how many others were injured and dropped on the way.
