Small setback today Kacy's lungs partially collapsed but apart from that she seems to be holding her own . myself my wife children grandchildren and great grandchildren all thank you all for your support and well wishes through this traumatic time It has been much appreciated .....

Kacy has had one drain removed apart from all the other trappings , dressings on wound and wires going everywhere she 's looking a lot better ......

Sorry didnt notice that a wee bit caught up at the moment with other things....

They have it on ebay under pigeons £6.50 +£1.20 postage they say delivery by thursday 3rd they have 8 available as of now ok .. yours in sport

Kacy out of surgery now in ICU ...

Still no word..

Kacy in theatre 10.30 this morning surgery planned to last 4 hrs update later....

And we wonder whats the problem sometimes it seems to me that petty beauracy and the whole system from the grass up needs looked at new radii worked on anything that stops this kind of thing from happening seems that the sport isnt so much dying but being killed off....

Kacy's op put off for 24 hrs at present dont know why....

Maybe its time to move away from small local clubs with few members and to have county clubs instead.which might help but bigger is not always best .there must be a middle road .....

It seems to me that this sport is full of those who have lost faith in the idea of a future of the sport itself we are capable of training our birds to win from extreme distances in adverse conditions andseldom loose faith in our birds .But inthe future of the sport we support the very essence of our way of life we see no future ALL NEGATORY WAVES .correct me if I'm wrong but by doing nothing aren't we just waving goodbye to the very thing we're trying to save ?......as one of the pensioner starts take it from me it wont last long for myself and none of y children grandchildren or great grandchildren will as peter pandy says want to dirty their hands shovelling sh** .but just maybe if I get a chance to inthuse into just one of them the sheer joy of watching the birds dive from the sky onto the loft to dance and coo with the joy being and to share that with them just maybe then there is a glimmer of a hope .and if each and everyone of us is notprepared to get off our arses and try then we may as well call it a day who amongst us is willing to pick that day may as wel be the first monday in march as any other get your fingers out and help promote or just Give up and negatory wavee the sport GOODBYE....

Maybe if charity events were more published ie into local papers its all news and helps getting what is done for good causes into the publics eye maybe the odd photos of cheques being handed over now that might go national with support from the press we might get somewhere( its no use having a charity do if we dont get any publicity back )....maybe organise a charity race on a national scale with proceeds to a deserving charity or school aid .Some schools nowadays have lofts we might be able to help other schools with those projects...

More information out there .More mentoring of new starts .more encouragement ,its not all about here's a couple of latebreds ...constructive criticism not always helpful especially in newbies.

Maybe short fast local wednesday night races might create a buzz .

We went today to see dearest Kacy she is such a wee beauty she is scheduled for open heart surgery on monday all things being well lots of positive thoughts for monday would be very welcome . sandy25

First let us thank all for your kind words of support and comfort which has meant a lot to us Update Kacy(I got the spelling wrong ) has transposition of the great arteries which means her chambers are the wrong way round the left side is pumping to the right and vice versa.The op she had was called a baloon septotomy (which they done through her groin couldn'do it through her navel) to make the hole between chambers bigger so oxygenated blood could circulate properly until she can have the open heart surgery to fix everything , which should be in a week to ten days away depending on how she improves .She has had a peaceful day .mother and gran at her bedside ,long days .. sandy

Kasey had operation this afternoon which enables her to breathe on her own , she was on a ventilator ,shes to get further op next week when they hope she'll have improved enough for them to operate on her heart valves which aren't working properly .I'll post more as and when ..According to grandaughter she's looking a lot better ,she's still in incubator .. thanks all for kind thoughts sandy

Welcoming our great granddaughter "kasey" to the world .. She was born yesterday at StJohn's Livingston .She's now in yorkhill hospital. Something wrong with her heart . Trying days
