just smear antiseptic cream over wounds and let it rest, i always think thay recover sooner if thay can see other birds in loft try keeping it in a nest box close to the floor for a couple of days.

if 3 members have ets you could basket between yourselves, & do result on the laptop then give the secretary your printed result just to add to the club result.

very true roland and when i see all those plastic louvers on lofts on here i wounder how many have steel grills on the inside.

this is what it did when my friend opened the loft not 1 bird to be seen just blood everywhere then he noticed that all the easeybed was piled up in 1 corner of the loft all his 65 birds were there on moving them 5 walked out alive but badly injured.

Just heard that a local fancier & friend has had a fox in his loft killing 60 birds, all stock & racers, and as you can imagin he is totaly gutted,it is the time of year that we must make sure that everything is locked up and secure, i will be helping him out with birds to breed from also ybs.

some feds go for the soft option with ybs as thay want the birdage every week, but in the long run are thay doing the birds any favours ?

ya ybs was not by choice we had several long races on our programe, in the space of 2 weeks i had 5 hens fly 740mls, maidstone 214 eastbourne 245 lilliers france 281mls, 1st club 6th club 5th & 6th club.

over 1700 mls full programe.

better to be safe than sorry, if it doesnt need it dont bother. weed by hand.

I paired up later than normal,when racing started birds were still feeding, ybs were later training, will go back to my normal pairing date.

moulting mix yes, barley no not while birds are moulting, a good moult is needed for next years racing.

It is expensive now but a bag will last a season a small amount added to feed each day.

most top distance flyers use it all the time, brian denny ( york) as in B.H.W.

think the winners show at the dome is around march time, bridlington show 7th & 8th nov are you going.

looks like its got the 27" pad same as mine, got mine last year for ybs, cost £398 plus extra for rings, so is well worth a bid, and is a good system to use.
