My sister just Phoned to tell me the sad news that Alec Campbell from Bargeddie has passed away Although he has not kept the birds for a number of years now due to ill health We kept the birds when we were boys up until i got married Then he and his dad went into partnership They had the finest family of Catrysse pigeons i have ever seen in my life but Alec was more of a pigeon lover than a racer he would loose one of his favorite birds at a race and he would stop them for the season The last time the Comonwealth games were in Scotland i won the bronze medal with a catrysse hen from his family of birds her photo still hangs in our club hut.He was a larger than life carachter R.I.P.
